Almay One Coat Multi-Benefit Mascara Review

I picked up a tube of the Almay One Coat Multi-Benefit Mascara when I got the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick at CVS because they had a buy 1, get 1 50% off deal and I think this is a nice basic every day mascara.

What’s to love?

I feel like this is a solid drug store mascara. While there’s no bells and whistles it does a good job. The packaging is very simple with a blue and white tube and the wand is a basic straight style that made application a breeze for me.

One thing that I do like about this mascara is the very light scent. Sometimes mascara scents can be overpowering but this one is very pleasant and light. The formula itself is a bit on the thick side and it does clump if you apply too much. The mascara did hold up throughout my day and I was able to remove it easily.

The formula also has keratin which is non-irritating and it says on the package that it’s for sensitive eyes. I didn’t have any irritation, but mascara usually doesn’t bother me.

Overall I think it’s a good product choice and I’ll definitely use up the tube.

Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick Review

I picked up the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick yesterday to test out and found it to be a nice Summer shade although it’s more a balm or gloss than lipstick.

What’s to love?

First I have to say that I don’t consider the Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss a lipstick but more of a lip balm or gloss. It has an angled flat top that twists up from the metallic tube and the packaging is quite pretty. The top of the case is transparent but very hard to open. I actually had to use my teeth to pull it off.

I really liked the product itself. I chose the Berry Shade for Light-Medium skin (Almay is tailoring their shades by skin type now) and it’s a pale pink on my lips.

The formula has a light shimmery glossy finish that’s pack with moisture but not sticky. My lips felt very soft and smooth with it on however this is not a highly pigmented or long lasting product. I got about 2 hours of wear before I had to reapply. It also came off on my water glass.

It does have a nice very light sugar/vanilla scent an but no taste. The lipstick is Hypoallergenic and Dermatologist Tested as is the entire Almay line.

Overall I liked this product and would buy it again. It comes in 12 shades. The price is $3.49 which I think is a great value too.

Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush Review

Today I tested out the Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush in Pink from Ulta.

I grew up with Almay because my mom was using hypoallergenic make-up way back in the 70’s and I always pick up a few things from their line now and then. All of the Almay products are fragrance free and they have not tested on animals in over 20 years.

The Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush is an hombre palette from with 4 shades of pink. I am a huge fan of anything hombre these days (including cake) because I often can’t decide which shade to choose so this way I get more options in one compact.

This compact is super cool too with a clear flip-up lid for the product and a mirror and brush on the back. One thing I love is that the compact is easy to open. There’s nothing worse that a hard to open compact!

The blush itself is a nice smooth powder that goes on easily and true to color. You can also blend to a custom shade with the 4 colors. I found the blush to be long-lasting and great for oil control.

I would definitely recommend this product.
