Benefit BADgal BANG! Mascara – First Impression

Benefit is one of my favorite brands so I wanted to give the new Benefit BADgal BANG! Mascara a test drive. I got the mini-size because I never keep mascara past 30-45 days. The mini is $12 and the full-sized product is $24.

First Impression!

First up, the packaging is nice. The wand handle has bumps so it’s easy to hold and the wand itself is compact with tiny bristles.

e1The consistency of BADGal BANG is a little sticky at first but once it dries it feels nice. I got great coverage and my lower lashes really stand out and are nicely separated.

The black shade looks a bit more glossy than matte which I liked and I felt like my lashes looked full without being clumpy. I wear glasses so I like a darker and fuller look.

Overall my first impression was amazing. I really like the results and I can’t wait to see if BADgal BANG has the staying power that everyone is talking about.

Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Review

I got a small version of the Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip lipstick in my April Birchbox and I have mixed feeling about this product.

The sample I got in Birchbox was pretty small so I’m wondering if the full-sized version of this product is a bit more substantial. Although the lipstick point looks like it is the same sized as the full-sized version.

The dual lipstick is oval with a darker tip that’s supposed to work as a liner. You can see the darker shade on my hand below. This lip duo comes in 8 combos and I have the Lusty Rose shade which is pretty.

However when I applied Double The Lip I really didn’t see a huge difference in the two shades and it was a little awkward applying it on my bottom lip because you have to flip it over to get the liner on.

The lipstick itself is nice and moisturizing I just can’t get past the wonky application. I would rather just use a  traditional liner.

Benefit They’re Real Beyond Mascara Review

I am a huge fan of Benefit Mascara so it was no surprise that I loved the Benefit They’re Real Beyond Mascara sample that I got at Ulta.

In January I tested out the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer so I’m happy to have the mascara now as well.

What’s to love?

I am a huge fan of the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and this one is really good too. The wand on They’re Real Mascara is a very simple and straight which I tend to prefer. I had good control and the mascara was easy to apply. This one did not curl my lashes as much as the Roller Lash but it’s a great everyday choice for me.

The They’re Real Beyond Mascara comes in Jet Black (I have this one), Beyond Brown and Beyond Blue.

I found the formula to be smooth and I had no clumping or flaking. I also got great separation on my bottom lashes too. However the big “wow’ factor for me was that it didn’t smudge. I have a bad habit of blinking after I apply mascara and I usually have to wipe a little blob away under my eye, with They’re Real I didn’t have get any of those black blobs.

I found that it did last all day for me and it was easy to remove. I usually don’t wear mascara more than 8 hours and it did great during that time.

Overall this one is a win for me and I would buy the full-sized product.

Full-Sized Price: $24

Benefit The POREfessional Review

I’ve been using the NYX Pore Filler for awhile now and love it so I was excited to try the Benefit POREfessional. I can’t remember which box I got this cute sample in but I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it.

I am in desperate need of a pore minimizer these days. I’ve been plagued with larges pores my entire life and a product that minimizes the appearance of my pores is a dream come true for me. Years ago our only choice was pancake make-up to fill in pores and that was not a good look for me.

What’s to love?

The Benefit The POREfessional Pro Balm is light beige with a smooth texture. Benefit says it can be used on all skintones, I have fair skin. When I rubbed it into my cheeks, nose and chin ares it absorbed almost instantly and felt silky to the touch. It miraculously does minimize my pores and I like this formula a bit more than the NYX Pore Filler (which is a great product).  The POREfessional just felt a little bit more smooth to me.

I also love that The POREfessional keeps my make-up in place. I tested this out for a few days and it does make a big difference for me. I wish I had this one back in the 80’s!

I also really want to try the the POREfessional: matte rescue gel next.

Full-Sized Price: $31.00

Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Lipstick & Liner in One

Holy Moly! I want one of the brand new Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Lipstick & Liner in One. They are a semi-matte lipstick and liner all in one and I’m really hoping they work as good as they look.

The theory behind this product is that the teardrop shaped lipstick has two shades and that the one at the top of the teardrop will “line” your lips. Of course you’ll have to make sure the liner end is in the correct position when you apply on your bottom lip. So you’ll need to do a flip.

The packaging is also uniquely Benefit with a futuristic silver case that’s larger on the bottom for what I am assuming is an easier grip. Benefit calls this an “ergonomic shaped component”. The price for these double lipsticks is $20 each and they look amazing!

They come in 8 duo shades including:

  • Nude Scandal pinky nude
  • Criminally Coral sandy coral
  • Lusty Rose rosy neutral
  • Revved-up Red cherry red
  • Flame Game fiery orange-red
  • Pink Thrills real pink
  • Fuchsia Fever electric pink
  • Juicy Berry very berry

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer Review

I got this Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer sample in one of my beauty boxes last Fall am I just got around to trying it this week and I’m glad I did. Holy Moly this stuff is nice!

What’s to love?

When you want your lashes to look really professional I believe that lash primers do work. The They’re Real Mink Brown Tinted Lash Primer by Benefit made my lashes look pretty amazing.

I applied the brown formula to both my upper and lower lashes. The wand is simple but very effective. I has zero clumping and it applied so smoothly. I would actually where this by itself for a casual look. It’s very natural looking.

The purpose of the product is to boost lengthen, lift & separate when paired with your favorite mascara. It is also water resistant and conditions with provitamin B5. My lashes felt soft and natural with this primer.

I allowed my primer to dry for 10 minutes (I like to make sure it’s completely dry) and then applied Benefit Roller Lash in black. As you can see from the photo above I think my lashes look pretty darn nice. It definitely lengthened and separated them.

I also had zero irritation from this mascara and the scent is fairly light to me. It is Made In France.

Overall I love this primer as a stand alone mascara and a buildable product. It has great staying power and looks nice at the end of the day. I would buy the full-sized product.
