Benefit Boi-ing Concealer Review

Today I picked up a full-sized Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 01-Light which I’ve used in gift pack sets. This is hands down my favorite concealer.

What’s to love?

Boi-ing is one of my favorite concealers because it covers up just about anything on my face from dark circles to age spots. I use Boi-ing under my foundation to give me an extra layer of coverage. I also dab a little my eye lids as an eyeshadow primer to remover darkness. I never get any creasing or creepy skin from this product.

I love the creamy consistency too, it’s not to thick or thin for my face. I am 46-years-old with combination skin. For me it definitely is an industrial strength concealer!

You get 3.0 g of product for $20 which will probably last me for 6 months. My only issue is with the screw-off top. I would prefer a flip-top for easier access. I keep dropping the top after I unscrew it.

Overall however this is one of my Top 5 must-have make-up products.

Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer Review

I got this Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer for redeeming 100 of my Sephora points which was pretty cool. I love the entire Benefit brow collection and am always happy to add a new product to the mix. This one is a brow conditioner and primer.

What’s to love?

This product intrigues me because  I had no idea that I needed to condition my brows. However when you think about it it’s a great idea as brows do tend to get thin and wild. The Browvo! contains keratin & soy proteins which is supposed to promote thicker brows. I’m going to see if this is true by using the sample for a week or so.

Benefit of course did an amazing job on the Star Trek geek meets the 1950’s style packaging and product design. This line is ingenious.

The tube itself has a removable silver cap that reveals a plastic comb type applicator. You’ll need to twist the bottom and “click” in order to get the product through the top hole. I had to click about 50 times the first time I used it. Once you see a small amount of clearish aqua clear on the comb pad simply swipe on your brows. The scent is fresh and clean and smells nice.

The product felt nice on my brows and dried quckly. You can use Browvo! alone or use it as a primer for your regular brow routine.

I’m excited to see how this works. One neat tip on the benefit site is to apply in the evening and wear all night to condition your brows.

My sample size is 1.0 mL. The full-sized product is 3.0 mL and costs $28.00.

July 2016 Sephora Play Box Review

*Spoiler Alert! I’m showcasing the July 2106 Sephora Play Box today.

The Sephora Play Box costs $10/month and you have to sign up to get invited. My invite took about a week.

In addition to the products you also get a Play! card that is good for a free one-on-one tutorial and 50 extra beauty points which I will definitely be getting.

Here’s what I got in the July 2016 Sephora Play Box!

Blotterazzi Beauty Blender – I love this pink tear dropped shaped sponge. You also get a liquid facial cleanser sample. I’m excite to try both.

Nest Citrine Fragrance – I am not a huge fan of perfume in general so I think I’ll pass this on to a friend. It does have a nice lotus flower and freesia scent.

Ouai Wave Spray – This hair spray is supposed to light waves and being that my hair is naturally wavy I’m excited to try it. It’s got a beachy, sea salty smell to it.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser – I’ve used this cleanser before and love it so I was excited to get another sample. This cleanser is a light pearlescent cream that no smell. I love how my face feels after I use it…light and clean. I like using it in the shower.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – I love this primer! I have a few samples and my mom will love this extra one.

Benefit Dew The Hoola  – LOL…I just noticed the box is upside down! This bronzer comes in a pump and it’s creamy with a great light smell. I’m not really a big fan of bronzers and this one felt a bit drying on my hand. I also didn’t notice a big change in color so not sure I’d use this.

Overall I’d give this box a 7 out of 10 only because I’m probably only going to use the pink blender and First Aid Beauty cream. These are great products, just not for me. Although I am excited to get my next Play! box.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

As part of my Sephora trip yesterday I redeemed 100 of my reward points and got a Benefit Roller Lash Mascara for free which was super exciting.

What’s to love!

Roller Lash is amazing and it works for me. The first thing you’ll notice is the curved wand tip that has lots of bristles which makes the product super easy to apply. I coated my lashes with one or two swipes and had instantly longer, thicker and curlier lashes.

This product has a very, very light smell and did not irritate my eyes at all. It was also long lasting for me. The box claims that 94%  said “their eyes look more wide open” and I would have to agree with this.

Here’s my before and after. My left eye has no mascara I used the Roller Lash on my right eye and it made a huge difference. Definite curled lashes with no clumping.

Benefit Life’s Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit Review

I feel like I hit the jackpot today! I wandered into Sephora while my mom and daughter were getting their hair cut and found the Benefit Cosmetics Life’s Little Correctors Color Correcting Kit for $20.

I picked up Lemon Aid last week and my mom wanted one so when I was looking through the Benefit display I found this great little collection that’s valued at $60.

I was thrilled to see that it not only came with Lemon Aid but an entire sampling of color-correcting products in 3 plastic cases that flip up.

Here’s what you get…

Case Number 1 – Boi-ing  in Shade 01 and Lemon Aid

Case Number 2 -Boi-ing  in Shade 02 and Lemon Aid

Case Number 1 –  Erase Paste in Number 2 Medium and Eye Bright.

Boi-ing Industrial-Strength Full Coverage Concealer

My mom and I both lucked out with the Boi-ing. I got shade 01 and she got shade 02. We both love it! Our dark circles are banished! Boi-ing has the same harder consistency that Lemon Aid has and blends super easily.

Lemon Aid x 2

Lemon Aid is a favorite of my and why I bought this set. Here’s the Lemon Aid Review I did last week:

Erase Paste Brightening Concealer

Erase Paste is a super soft creamy Concealer, I accidentally sunk my finger into it thinking it was hard. It has a great consistency and my 71-year-old mom was able to blend out several dark areas on her face with super coverage. The Number 2 shade was a bit dark for me as you can see I have very fair skin.

Eye Bright

Eye Bright comes in a pencil if you buy it alone so I thought that it was neat to have it in a pot in this set. Eye Bright is a must have for anyone over 40. Dab a little bit on the corners of your eyes and blend with your finger to look instantly fresh. I seriously love this product!

So if you’re looking to try out the Benefit correcting line or get a little of each product this is the perfect set. I have a feeling this set is going to last quite awhile, you get a nice amount of each product.

So happy, happy day at Sephora today! I even kept the bag

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil Review

Last week I picked up the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil and I’ve been enjoying it for days! I really wanted to give it a good test before I wrote my review.

First of all I love the packaging. It looks like something out of Star Trek and is very utilitarian. Perfect for your purse too. You also get a little tips sheet which is very helpful.

What’s to love about the Benefit brow brush!

Or should I say…what’s NOT to love! This product is awesome.

On one end you get the eye brow product which is a pointed oval tip that you apply directly to your eyebrow, the other end has a brush to perfect the look. The Goof Proof is to much easier to use than a traditional eyebrow pencil. I think it’s due to the shape of the product.

I was a bit leary at first because it looks almost too easy, but that’s really the point. In less than 30 seconds you can have great brows.

The pencil comes in 6 shades from light to dark and is a twist-up style pencil that is long-wearing.  I got #3 which is the Medium shade.

Here’s me in the product (it’s really hard to take an up close make-up selfie but I’m learning). Keep in mind that I’m over 40 and that my brows are thinning a bit.

The pencil filled in my patchy spots really well. I also wear glasses so I am usually careful not to over-do my brows because it can look too busy. I think I succeeded with this look.

Over all I am thrilled with this pencil and will definitely be trying the other Benefit brow products.

Benefit Lemon Aid Color Correcting Eyelid Primer Review

I tested out the Benefit lemon aid color correcting eyelid primer this week and I am thrilled with the results.

What I love about lemon aid!

I just discovered this product and it’s perfect for correcting dark eye skin and redness. I use it on my lid, under my brow and even under my eye.

You get a 0.09 oz. pot of product in a compact with a mirror. You only use a tiny bit so it should last for a very long time.

The product itself is a really smooth yellow cream. Simply grab a dab with your finger apply to your eye area. I covered my entire eye area with lemon aid then brushed on the Grav3yard Girl Tarte shades of Uncommon and Haunting. I then added a light brush of Clinique mascara.

Overall I think this product is wonderful for women over 40 or anyone that has some dark or red areas around the eye. It definitely works to give your eye a little bit of brightness and who doesn’t need that!
