Revlon Powder Blush in Haute Pink Review

I like stocking up on drug store brands for my make-up and travel bags and I found this Revlon Power Blush as part of my grocery store close out for just $1! The shade is Haute Pink which I am assuming is a retired shade as it’s not on the Ulta site but I love it!

What’s to love?

Aside from my amazing deal I really like the Revlon Powder Blush formula. It’s very light, I would not call this a super pigmented shade but it looks so pretty for a casual day look. The Haute Pink has a bit of a pearl sheen and it gives me a little Summer glow.

The formula has zero odor and very little dust, which I like. Overall I think this is a quality drug store blush.

The compact comes with a small mirror and an OK brush that works fine on the road.

Ingredients – Talc, Mica, Red Iron Oxide, Black Iron Oxide, Yellow Iron Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Stearate, Bixmuth Oxychloride.

Retail Price: $10.99

IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush Review

I received a sample of the IBY Beauty Mineral Pressed Blush in my Spring 2107 Beautycon Box and it’s beautiful! The IBY Blush is Paraben and Talc Free and it’s Made in the USA.

I come in 4 shades: Peach Sheen, Raspberry, Peachy and Passion Pink. I have the Peach Sheen shade.

What’s to love?

While I had not heard of IBY Beauty I can say that I am loving this highly pigmented blush. It’s also silky soft and makes my skin glow with a bit of sheen. I like having a few peachy blushes in my stash for when I where brown eye shadow and my Urban Decay Vice Amulet lipstick.

It also very fine being a mineral blush which it a fresh and lustrous finish.

I also found that it has great staying power and it can layered for additional looks.

Full-Sized Price: $16

It Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow Review

I am so excited to have gotten my hands on the new It Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow this week. This is a highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one.

It comes in 3 shades, I have the Natural Glow

  • Nude Glow – sheerest naturally pretty glow
  • Natural Glow – natural rosy kiss
  • Warm Glow – your richest shade of bronzer

First up it’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be at 4.5″ wide.

What’s to love?

The packaging on this palette is so pretty with a round It branded metallic closure on top that’s super secure. Inside there is a nice mirror.

The product itself is so luxurious. I did not get the Heavenly Skin One-Sweep Wonder Brush #705 for $48 but my Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush Travel Size #7 works quite well.

The formula itself is vitamin C-infused and it really does have a nice orange scent. It does have “Drops of Light Technology” and I have to say that my skin really does glow with this product. I like to pick up all three shades with my brush for my checks then do a little cheekbone highlighting with the lighter highlighter shade.

It also feels very silky and soft on my face which I love.

Overall I’m thrilled with this palette and would like to try the Nude Glow. I’ve been very happy lately with It Cosmetics and get a lot of compliments about my make-up so that’s a plus too!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Review

April 7th is circled on my calendar in red because I really want to pick up the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush from the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale for $14. The Tarte Amazonian Highlighter is also on sale for $14 that day.

What’s to love?

Tarte is one of my all time favorite make-up brands but I don’t have a full-sized Amazonian Clay Blush. I do have the Paaarty Shade sample sized that I got as my Sephora birthday gift and I can’t believe how much I love it.

I just started using this shade earlier this week and I’m really impressed with the over-all finish of this blush. It’s soft, pigmented and very blendable but what I like most is that it doesn’t make my 40+ skin look old or wrinkled. It really looks smooth and pretty and the Amazonian clay really does minimize my oily areas.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush comes in 8 shades:

  • Blissful (matte warm peach)
  • Blushing Bride (rosy pink)
  • Dollface (matte light pink)
  • Natural Beauty (matte rosy red)
  • Glisten (shimmering peachy pink)
  • Peaceful (shimmery soft nude peach)
  • Captivating (matte warm peach)
  • Dazzled (shimmery soft rose)

I really want to pick up Dollface and Natural Beauty during the sale.

I also did a video for the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale if you want to check it out!

Beauty Reviews, Revlon

Revlon Insta-Blush Review

When I was at Ulta yesterday I also picked up the new Revlon Insta-Blush stick. I have quite a few of these blush/highlighter sticks and I use them on a daily basis.

What’s to love?

To me these sticks are such a convenience and so easy to use. The Revlon Insta-Blush comes in 4 colors including Nude Kiss, Candy Kiss, Rose Gold Kiss and Berry Kiss which is the one I bought.

The stick is a matte finish that feels very dry and smooth, almost like a powder after I applied it which is interesting because after I tried it I did read that it’s a “cream-to-powder formula”, which I found to be true.

The pigmentation I’d say is medium, it gives what I’d call a more translucent finish which is what I want in a blush and it’s very blendable. I could also see using the Rose Gold Kiss shade as a highlighter.

The packaging is nice with a clear top and twist-up design and it has a light clay scent that does not bother me. It’s made in the USA.

Overall I am pretty impressed with this product. I love how dry it feels. I actually have a high-end blush stick that feels more greasy which I don’t like as much.

Price: $12.99

Beauty Reviews, It Cosmetics

It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Review

I’ve seen It Cosmetics on QVC and the makeovers look amazing, I just hadn’t tried anything from them yet so I decided to pick up the It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection set today and I’m glad I did.

What’s to love?

It Cosmetics was founded by Jamie Kern Lima then it was purchased by L’Oreal in 2016. It is a line of “problem-solving products”.

I chose the Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection because I really wanted to try the Bye Bye Pores Pressed. The packaging is cute with a pale pink metallic case and it contains four products.

Bye Bye Pores Blush –  This blush is amazing. The fine powder looks very silky and smooth and it felt very light on my face. They color is so pretty too.

Bye Bye Pores Pressed – I’m so glad I picked up this pore filler. The translucent powder worked really well on my large pores and it looked smooth and pretty.

Cosmetics Sunshine In A Compact – This shade is a bit dark for me but it’s nice for contouring and as a bronzer.

Perfect Lighting Luminizer – This highlighter is so pretty. It’s a light beige with a gold shimmer and it looked great just above my cheeks.

I tried to swatch the shades but they are very light, however this does not diminish the product. The shades are beautiful on my face. Here’s a selfie I took wearing all fours shades.

Overall I’m impressed with It and I’d like to try a few more of their products. My only issue is that it’s Made in China. Why of why can’t they make this stuff in the USA?

The It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection palette is part of my February Favorites on YouTube!

BECCA Luminous Blush Review

I am so excited to have gotten my hands on the BECCA Luminous Blush in Snapdragon. This shimmery powder looks amazing on my skin and in the January snow!

This beautiful blush comes in 6 colors including Camellia (pink), Tigerlily (gold), Foxglove (dark pink), Snapdragon (coral), Blushed Copper (copper) and Dhalia (violet).

What’s to love?

I feel like this one is going to be my go-to daily blush for Spring.

First up, I love the BECCA packaging. It’s a nice heavy compact with a hard rubberized edge and gunmetal center. It feels like a quality case.

The product itself is so nice too. The thing I love most about the BECCA Luminous Blush is how blendable it is. I don’t need a lot on my brush to give me the perfect cheek color. It’s very pigmented and looks amazing on my over 40 skin. I find that it illuminates my face without looking too intense or garish. I am truly in love with this blush! It feels like silk on my skin.

I’ve talked a lot about my love of drug store and high end cosmetics here on this blog and I will say that a blush like this is well worth the investment for me in terms of quality. To me it’s the difference between a nice department store purse and a Prada purse. Even though the department store purse is nice, the Prada purse wins hands down!
