I received a sample sized Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer in my August 2017 Glossybox and it’s really nice.
What’s to love?
I am a huge fan of brow tamers and the Pixi by Petra formula is great. It does set, shape and hold my brows and I love that it’s Not tested on animals. It also does not make my brows sticky or goopy. It has aloe vera and panthenol.
My only issue is that I don’t use a lot of brow tamer. This tube will probably last me for 3 months which I guess is a good thing! I do like that this one is $10 for the full-sized tube which is super reasonable. I don’t like to pay a lot for brow tamers and this one does the job at the right price for me.
The Pixi by Petra brand is great and I love their stuff.
The Winky Lux brow pencil has two ends. A pencil end and a brush end. The pencil itself is fills in my brows really nicely and the brush works to smooth everything out. The light brown shade is perfect for me and really gives them a nice shape.
It’s Cruelty Free , Paraben Free, Gluten Free.
Price: $12

I feel like this $35 brow Powder/Pomade is a very professional product with lots of diversity. I also got a brush for the brow powder that’s retails for $14 and The BrowGal website has a .pdf sheet with instructions that I found very helpful.
You get a warm, neutral, and ash tone in the compact and you can use it dry as a powder or wet as a pomade. For me the dry powder gave me me full brows while the wet pomade gave me very dramatic brows. I am terrible at photographing my brows and the pictures just did not do the product justice.
I am so excited to have a professional brow product that I can play with and love that I got this in my Beautycon Box, it’s not something I’d normally pay $49 (compact & brush). There are 3 shades, 01 for Dark hair, 02 for Medium Hair, 03 for Light Hair. The shades are very pigmented, smooth and so pretty.
Overall I am very impressed with both the compact and the brush. I have a The BrowGal Highlighter that I love and I’m excited to experiment more with this brow palette.
The BrowGal Convertible Brow Powder/Pomade is part of my Beauty Con Box Reveal!
I got the Chella Ivory Lace Brow Highlighter in my March Ipsy Bag and while I had never heard of this brand before I am loving this pencil. Chella was founded in 2003.
What’s to love?
First I have to say that brow highlighters are my new “Over 40” best friend. These highlighters to wonders for making my eyes look brighter. I also love The BrowGal Highlighter Pencil.
The Chella pencil has a great consistency. It firm but not hard applies very easily. I just swipe under and over my brow and then blend with my finger. The Ivory Lace shade is so pretty and really brightens up my face. The Chella pencil also comes in Latte, Cappuccino and Cinnamon.
The pencil can also be used on the inner corners of the eye, down the center of your nose and along the lip line for extra facial highlighting. You will need a sharpener for this one too, it’s not a twist-up.
I’m also super excited that Ipsy is continuing to give high-end products (the full-sized price on the brow pencil is $18) in their bags. Ipsy is one of my favorite beauty subscriptions.
I picked up the Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer Mascara as part of my Maybelline haul this week and I have to say this unusual product works wonders on my brows. It comes in 5 shades: Medium Brown, Blonde, Soft Brown, Deep Brown and Auburn. I got the Blonde shade.
What’s to love?
The oval wand is pretty much like a standard mascara brush but the real magic of the product are the tiny hair-like fibers in the formula. According to Maybelline this product is a “fiber infused gel”. At first the little fibers creeped me out because I wasn’t expecting them to be so large. The theory is that the fibers make your brows fuller by adding volume rather than just color.
I applied the brow mascara by swiping my brow from the inside to the outside. I found it to be a little bit hard to apply and it felt very wet. I did apply it in my Maybelline Haul video and I’ve gotten more more skilled at putting it on with practice. Maybelline does suggest wiping the excess product off before you start and this did help with the wetness.
The main goof I made on my first application was pushing the wand too hard against my brows. It works much better if you “comb” your brows in short strokes.
I actually have pretty thick brows so I don’t need a huge amount of volume but my moms brows are very thin and she did find that it gave her more fullness.
Overall I think this is a neat product for natural brow filling however I wish the wand was a little bit better. It was slightly hard to control however I think the overall look was nice.
It had a very low odor for me and is Made in the USA.
I went to Target today and ended up with a nice Maybelline Haul. I got 4 new products and 2 that I’ve used before. I am a huge fan of Maybelline and found some good stuff. Here’s what’s in my haul!
Maybelline Lash Sensational– This mascara has grown on me over the last 6 months. It’s a great daily wear for me. Price: $5.99
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Romantic Rose – This pretty pink lipstick felt smooth and creamy and looked very nice. It also has no scent which I love. Price: $4.29
Maybelline Brow Precise Eyebrow Perfecting Highlighter – This is my favorite product from todays haul. It’s a super creamy brow highlighter that made my eyes pop. $6.99
Maybelline Face Studio Master Strobing Liquid – Wow! This product is so pretty and luminous. I got the 100 Light/Iridescent shade and it’s gorgeous. Price: $7.99
Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer – This is the most unusually product of the bunch. It’s a liquid brow mascara that feels wet upon application. It did make my brows look amazing too. Price: $8.99
Target had a deal today that if you bought 4 Maybelline products you got a $5 gift card and I had coupons and Cart Wheel so I got a great deal too. Once I use these products for a few weeks I’ll do a more in depth review.
I did a YouTube reveal too so be sure to check it out!
I’ve been using a sample of the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder in Taupe for about a month now and I am so impressed with it. The powder also comes in Dark Brown, Brunette and Blonde. The Full-Sized price is $25 and it’s Made in Germany.
What’s to love?
Brows are never too exciting to me for some reason. Maybe it’s because I tend to wear my hair with bangs and they usually get hidden. The reality is I really should be paying more attention to making my brows look more shaped and the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder has gone a long way with helping me achieve this.
This brow powder is super fine and has amazing pigmentation. I just swipe a little on with the tiny applicator and my brows look very professional and full. I also like that it never gives me that Grocho Marx look.
I’ve read some reviews wear people have said this product is messy but I have not experienced that at all. The powder is very, very fine and the tiny foam tip applicator gives me just the right amount of coverage. I also love that I can “spot fill” areas where my brows are thin.
Overall I am truly impressed with the product and I imagine the full-sized tube will last forever. A little goes a long way.
There are certainly staples that every beauty addict needs in their collection and for me it’s the Revlon ColorStay Brow Crayon. This simple and inexpensive brow crayon always perks up my face when my brows are looking thin.
What’s to love?
The Revlon ColorStay Brown Crayon comes in 4 shades. Blonde, Soft Brown, Dark Brown and Soft Black. I have the Soft Brown shade but I also want to get the Blonde one.
This product is really simple and adds color to my brows with just a very light swipe. I like to use this product if I’m on the go or for easy touch-ups. The crayon has a medium buttery consistency and the application is smooth. I usually use my finger to rub it in a bit.
I feel like this brow crayon is super versatile too. It’s buildable, blendable and waterproof. Overall I love this product as a beauty staple and it’s a twist-up and lasts forever.
Tip! Don’t press too hard or you’re going to look like Grocho Marx. A little goes a long way.
I picked up this NYX Sculpt & Highlight Brow Contour from target today because I love having a dual ended pencil like this, however I had mixed results.
What’s to love?
I love having a highlighter and pencil in one product so I was excited to see that NYX had this kind of product. I got the Soft Pink/Auburn Shade because I wanted to try something with red undertones. The shades are very pretty.
But…this is the first NYX product that I’m not completely in love with. The Soft Pink side is great as a highlighter however the Auburn side is hard and brittle. I could barley apply it to my brows and it smudged all of the place. I kind of looked like an auburn lashed Grocho Marx which no one wants to see!
So the “good” is that I’m going to stick this into my make-up bag because I like the highlighter end and I can always use the other side as a pen! See turning everything into a positive there! The packaging is also great with twist ups on both sides and this product has very little scent. It is Made in Taiwan.
I have seen users who do love this product so it could just be me. Has anyone else tried one of these pencils?
I got this Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer for redeeming 100 of my Sephora points which was pretty cool. I love the entire Benefit brow collection and am always happy to add a new product to the mix. This one is a brow conditioner and primer.
What’s to love?
This product intrigues me because I had no idea that I needed to condition my brows. However when you think about it it’s a great idea as brows do tend to get thin and wild. The Browvo! contains keratin & soy proteins which is supposed to promote thicker brows. I’m going to see if this is true by using the sample for a week or so.
Benefit of course did an amazing job on the Star Trek geek meets the 1950’s style packaging and product design. This line is ingenious.
The tube itself has a removable silver cap that reveals a plastic comb type applicator. You’ll need to twist the bottom and “click” in order to get the product through the top hole. I had to click about 50 times the first time I used it. Once you see a small amount of clearish aqua clear on the comb pad simply swipe on your brows. The scent is fresh and clean and smells nice.
The product felt nice on my brows and dried quckly. You can use Browvo! alone or use it as a primer for your regular brow routine.
I’m excited to see how this works. One neat tip on the benefit site is to apply in the evening and wear all night to condition your brows.
My sample size is 1.0 mL. The full-sized product is 3.0 mL and costs $28.00.
