Maybelline Color Tattoo by EyeStudio 24hr Cream Gel Eye Shadow Review

I recently picked up the Maybelline Color Tattoo by EyeStudio 24hr Cream Gel Eye Shadow in Painted Purple because it was on sale and I like to keep these pots in my make-up bag. I love the Inked In Pink shade that I bought last Summer so I thought I’d try the purple shade.

What’s to love?

The Maybelline Color Tattoo is a nice cream eyeshadow that looks really bright in the pot however it is a bit more transparent on my skin but I do really like it. The non-greasy formula is easy to apply on the go and the shade is one of my favorites.

The key to a good application is to sweep your eyelid and then blend out. I like to apply a primer first to get a better application. The color does stay put with no creasing although I have never tried wearing it for 24 hours.

I have also heard that these pots can dry out but the pink one I bought last year is still fine so I’m hoping I have the same luck with the purple shade.

L’ORÉAL Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm for Face/Neck/Chest

I got the L’ORÉAL Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm for Face/Neck/Chest for free because I used my $11.99 credit from my Amazon Beauty Box which was really cool.

First Impression!

I wanted to try this face cream on my dry spots and my first impression is that it’s a nice product. The golden colored cream is very rich and thick (it really is more of a butter than a cream) with a light musky/floral scent that smells a bit old-fashioned to me. I do however like that it comes in a glass jar.

My biggest concern is that it might be too rich for my skin. I’m OK with wearing it at night but as a day cream I thought it looked a bit greasy although it is a non-greasy formula. However I’m fine with it just being a night cream.

It did hydrate my skin very well and it did absorb quickly for me. Overall I interested in seeing if this does anything to my dry areas long term.

It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Moisturizing Super Cream Review

Today I decided to try the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Moisturizing Super Cream based on the amazing reviews. I picked up the It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection and love this palette but I’m not so sure about the cream. I know you’re supposed to use a cream for a few weeks to get the full effect but I’m not sure I can get that far.

This is a tough review because I have mixed feelings about this cream. I tried it out in the store and I swear it smelled much lighter. When I got this jar home the scent was much stronger and perfumey which I didn’t like.

The Confidence in a Cream has got some powerful ingredients and was designed for all skin types. It does get excellent reviews and so many people swear by this formula so I may be in the minority here.

Here’s my experience with the cream.

I watched the QVC video and applied it in light sweeping motions to my clean face, however it felt heavy and greasy. I actually kept touching my face because it felt oily and sticky. However I do tend to have oily skin without cream.

Interestingly I feel like my face did look more smooth after just one hour of wearing this product but I just didn’t like how it felt enough to keep it. My 72-year-old mom tried it too and she liked it better than me, so I’m thinking this might be her Valentine’s Day gift!

I’m curious to know if anyone else has tried this product and what they think. I think this is an awesome product that’s just not for me.

C.O. Bigelow Body Lotion Review

I picked up three of the C.O. Bigelow Body Lotions for my mom over the holidays. You can get these at Bath & Body works for $9 each and they are really nice.

cob.jpg

What’s to love?

Fun fact! C.O. Bigelow was founded in 1838 and is the oldest surviving apothecary–pharmacy in the U.S.A and the only actual C.O. Bigelow store is the original location at Sixth Avenue store in Greenwich Village. You can get their products online and at Bath & Body works.

I love their line and their body lotions are amazing. My mom has extremely dry hands and is always looking for a new lotion so I got her Citrus Vetiver, Lime Coriander and Vanilla Birch. They also come in Freshwater Lavender, Almond Musk, Sea Salt Mimosa, Bergamot Amber, Mandarin Oak and Cashmere Fig.

The body lotions are made with Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Aloe and Vitamin B5 and they really do work for us. The white formula is soft and and absorbs quickly. It does not feel greasy at all and they scents are amazing and strong in a fresh and beautiful way. I don’t find them to be perfumey at all, but more earthy and fresh. I’ve actually had people compliment me on the scent in stores.

I also love the simple masculine style of the bottles. I put one on my dresser and my husband started using it, he love it too. I think this product is great for anyone.

Battle Of The Liquid Lipsticks (7 Pinks Shades To Love).

Over the past 6 months I’ve tested a lot of liquid lipstick and I wanted to showcase 7 pink shades that I’ve tried out. I’m still on the fence about liquid lipstick. While I love the shades, pigmentation and staying power I still prefer my over 40 lips to have a little moisture and shine.

ll

The first thing I wanted to do was show the doe foot on each product and the scent. In the photo below from right to left I have:

  1. NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in San Paulo (strong cookie/sugar scent)
  2. OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mocha (strong cookie/sugar scent)
  3. Ciate London Liquid Velvet in Pin Up (no scent)
  4. Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B (very light cookie/sugar scent)
  5. Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat (no scent)
  6. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina (strong cookie/sugar scent)
  7. Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit (light mint scent)

Next up I swatched each shade in the same order.

My favorite shade is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina, it’s the second from the left and such a pretty mauve/pink.

My favorite cream is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream which I didn’t find to be that drying.

My favorite scent is the Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit because it smells like mint which I love.

My overall favorite product of these 7 is the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick. It had great staying power, was not too dry and I really liked how it felt on my lips.

What’s YOUR favorite liquid lipstick?

Beauty Reviews, Buxom

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian Review

I’m on a roll today because I have so many great samples in my stash to share. The Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian came in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip Set and it’s a beautiful nude pink color.

What’s to love?

First up I like Buxom tube because it’s wide on the bottom and does not fall over when you stand it up, I also like the hard opaque plastic because it looks classy and it’s sturdy.

The Buxom Cream formula is is different from the Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in that there’s no shimmer, glitter or metallic finish. Instead you get a beautiful creamy high shine finish which comes in 12 shades. It’s also got a good tingle (but not too much) and it smells like sugar or cookies. It also has “encapsulated hyaluronic spheres” to plump your lips and I have to agree that my lips looked nice and plumpy! I actually prefer the Cream formula to the Lip Polish.

As you can see from the photo above it really did make my lips look soft, shiny and plump with a hint of pink. I am really digging this formula! It’s not sticky or goopy either, my lips just feel soft and moisturized. I really love this product!

Just a fun fact too. Buxom is owned by Bare Escentuals which is BareMinerals.

The Buxom Full on Lip Cream is on sale for $10 on March 22nd, 2017 as part of the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty!

Pond’s Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream Review

Pond’s reminds me of the 1970’s when we called face cream “cold cream” and no one was really sure what it was. My Aunt and mom just slathered it on their face at night.

I do love that Pond’s has been around for 150 years and I was pretty excited to get a sample of the Pond’s Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream in my Walmart Box to test out.

What’s to love?

The Pond’s formula comes in an easy to open jar and is a thick white cream. It does have a pretty powerful rose scent that I’m not crazy about but if you love roses it’s probably fine.

This Made in the USA (Yay!) product uses Alpha Hydroxy Acids and according to Pond’s is is Dermatologist tested, Hypoallergenic and won’t clog pores.

I found this product to be surprisingly smooth and non-greasy. I have oily skin and this cream didn’t create any excess oil which was nice. I did notice that it reduced my fine lines a bit and for the price I’m happy to use up this sample on Winter skin. I’m not sure I would buy it again because roses are not my favorite but I think it’s a nice drug store choice.

Price: $8.07

Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet Review

This is my first experience with Caudalie and for some reason I thought that the Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet was a floral scent but it’s not, it has a delicious grape scent and it’s very nice. I got this sample from Sephora.

c

What’s to love?

The Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet is a Cream-Mask that uses Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Water and it does have a nice very light grape scent.

Oddly for me it worked better on my hands than my face. The light weight lotion immediately absorbed into the back of my hand and dried quickly. It almost melts into your skin. Afterwards my hand felt extremely soft. While it is a face cream I would use this product on my hands.

I think my skin is a bit oily to use on my face although it says it’s for all skin types. I didn’t have any irritation and I love that it’s formulate for “hypersensitive” skin.

I think this is a great product and I’m going to pass it on to my mom who has sensitive skin. It’s also supposed to reduce redness which my mom has.

Price: $39

Full disclosure here. I’m a Pumpkin Spice fanatic so  be prepared to see more amazing Pumpkin Spice beauty finds this Fall.

I found the most amazing Pumpkin Spice hand cream today at Marshall’s from Deep Steep. Woah Pumpkin Spice and it was only $3.99.

ds

What’s to love?

Deep Steep is a new brand for me and I am super impressed. Their products are Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Vegan and Cruelty Free AND they smell amazing.

The Pumpkin Spice Hand Cream is so luxurious and the smell is one of the nicest pumpkin spice scents I’ve tried. Just the right amount of cinnamon and pumpkin pie. So, so good.

My hands feel amazing after apply the cream and I can’t stop smelling it. A win for me. I’d like to try their Rosemary Mint and Honeydew Spearmint next.
