Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner Review

Today I got the Pretty Vulgar The Ink Gel Eyeliner in my May 2018 Boxycharm Box. This is probably the neatest eyeliner I have ever owned!

What’s to love?

The Ink Gel Eyeliner comes in a large vintage style pot that looks like an ink well. The label is gold. The eyeliner is a soft solid gel and I used the the Aesthetica Angled Eyeliner brush that I also got in my May 2018 Boxycharm Box.

This is one of the smoothest eyeliners I have ever used. It’s also got a deep pigment. I am so thrilled with this product! It’s also cruelty free, fragrance free, paraben free, sulfate free, talc free and Vegan.

The Ink Gel Eyeliner comes in:

  • Black List (I have this one)
  • Dear Diary – Grey
  • Plot Twist -Brown

Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Review

I received the a Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil in Côte D’azur in my February 2018 Sephora Play Box. . This pencil comes in 4 matte shades and 20 metallic shades and the full-sized price is $23.

I was a huge Lancome girl in the 80’s and I’m thrilled to find a product that I like using today.

What’s to love?

The Drama Liqui-Pencil is a dream to apply and the color is gorgeous! I simply ran the pencil under my lower lashes and had no tugging or pulling — it literally glides on! You can smudge the color or leave as-is. The blue is really bright and I’d probably only wear this at a special event or an 80’s party but I’d like to try the Metallic Bronze shade for daily wear.

I also found the staying power to be amazing! I went 8-hours without any fading.

It is formulated without Parabens or Sulfates.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper – This black liquid liner is waterproof and transfer-resistant. I love the bold look and it’s so easy to apply. It also comes in Mad Max Brown, Price: $20

Your Best Friend Gelus Eyes 5-Piece Collection Review

I received a complimentary (free) Gelus Eyes 5-piece Collection from Your Best Friend. All opinions are my own.

This set of 5 mini-eyeliners fits neatly in a cute tin and you get 5 shades including from left to right…

  • wonderful white
  • stunning silver
  • cheering chocolate
  • beYOUtiful bronze
  • onyx pearl

Each water resistant shade has a shimmer, sparkle or pearl finish. You can also get this set in a colorful collection and includes: golden green, mischevious maroon, luminous lavender, naughty navy and pearlized pink (not pictured).

According to YBF…”the new sophisticated technology gel liners that contain special reflective pearls (shades) for multi-dimensional colour that can be worn alone or layered for an intensified effect!

When I tested these liners out I was so impressed with how smoothly they applied to both my waterline and under eye. For me they glided on effortlessly and the color stayed in place.

My two favorite shades so far are the beYOUtiful bronze and the cheering chocolate (brown) but I really want to experiment with wonderful white.

I like the gel formula (it’s infused with antioxidants, emollients and Vitamin E) as it does feel very moisturizing on my skin. I also found these liners to have great staying power. Being over 40 I need a soft no-tug liner and these work for me! They also have a twist-up stick for easy use.

Retail Price: $28.50

The YBF Gelus Collection is part of my May Beauty Favorites!

Beauty Reviews, Revlon

Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Review

The Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art duo is so pretty and comes in 10 shades including:

  • Green Glimmer (aqua)
  • Lilac Luster (purple)
  • Black Brilliance (black & white)
  • Cobalt Crystal (multi-shaded blue & white)
  • Peach Prism (peachy cooper)
  • Desert Dazzle (green)
  • Burnished Bling (gold)
  • Topaz Twinkle (light gold)
  • Steel Spark (grey/brown)
  • Midnight Glitz (dark blue & multi-shaded black)

I have the Peach Prism shade which is a nice peachy copper.

What’s to love?

This duel ended liquid can be used on lids, as a liner and even on lashes which I found to be difficult. One end of the formula is a creamy metallic that goes on super smooth and dries nicely. The other end is a glitter formula that is more patchy but I was able to use it over the cream when it dried.

The creamy metallic has a fuzzy doe foot for application while the glitter side uses a brush that can be used on lashes and as a liner.

Overall I did like this product. It’s pretty, fun and unique.

This is definitely a glittery look but I thought it would be fun for Halloween.

Price: $8.99

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil Review

I got a mini Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Flirting Game and it’s my new Fall favorite. This eye pencil is beautiful!

s

What’s to love?

This little eye pencil is really nice for Fall. Sephora says it’s Taupe but it’s really multi-dimensional and shimmery. You can see in the swatch below that it’s super pigmented. It is waterproof so it’s also got great staying power. I had a very hard time removing it from my arm so I do believe that it will last 12 hours.

The pencil is on the softer side so I did need a nice point to get a thin line. This is not a twist-up so you’ll need a sharpener. I do recommend putting it in the fridge before you sharpen it to firm up the product because if the air temperature is too warm it might be hard to sharpen.

The pencil comes in 25 colors including glitter, matte and shimmer. I’d like to try one of the glitter green or purple shades next.

The full-sized product price is $10 and these pencils are Made in Germany. They are also free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Review

I got the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cashmere in the Summer 2016 Kandee Johnson Beauty Con Box and it worth picking up. At only $4.50 I want to try more colors, it comes in 32 amazing shades like Purple Velvet, Milk (white) and French Fries (bronze).

What’s to love?

First, I have to say that NYX is fast becoming one of my favorite drug store brands. Prior to getting a few sample in my Beauty Con Box I hadn’t tried them. I’m so glad I did.

Now for the Jumbo Eye Pencil. This sucker is so versatile. You can use it as eye shadow, eye liner and highlighter. I’ve tried all three.

I love how creamy the pencil is (I’ve always loved cream eyeshadow) and I get no creasing. There is zero scent and the product is super easy to use as it is a twist up. The Cashmere color is shimmery and smooth and looks great on my upper lids. My only wish is that it was made in the USA and not Taiwan.

Overall I am super impressed and will be picking up a few more.

My swatch is a bit weird from my Apple Watch tan line!

This is a cool idea too! People are saying that the eye pencil works even better with a brush so they are putting the product in a pot! How creative is that?
