Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Review

I received the a Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil in Côte D’azur in my February 2018 Sephora Play Box. . This pencil comes in 4 matte shades and 20 metallic shades and the full-sized price is $23.

I was a huge Lancome girl in the 80’s and I’m thrilled to find a product that I like using today.

What’s to love?

The Drama Liqui-Pencil is a dream to apply and the color is gorgeous! I simply ran the pencil under my lower lashes and had no tugging or pulling — it literally glides on! You can smudge the color or leave as-is. The blue is really bright and I’d probably only wear this at a special event or an 80’s party but I’d like to try the Metallic Bronze shade for daily wear.

I also found the staying power to be amazing! I went 8-hours without any fading.

It is formulated without Parabens or Sulfates.

Your Best Friend Gelus Eyes 5-Piece Collection Review

I received a complimentary (free) Gelus Eyes 5-piece Collection from Your Best Friend. All opinions are my own.

This set of 5 mini-eyeliners fits neatly in a cute tin and you get 5 shades including from left to right…

  • wonderful white
  • stunning silver
  • cheering chocolate
  • beYOUtiful bronze
  • onyx pearl

Each water resistant shade has a shimmer, sparkle or pearl finish. You can also get this set in a colorful collection and includes: golden green, mischevious maroon, luminous lavender, naughty navy and pearlized pink (not pictured).

According to YBF…”the new sophisticated technology gel liners that contain special reflective pearls (shades) for multi-dimensional colour that can be worn alone or layered for an intensified effect!

When I tested these liners out I was so impressed with how smoothly they applied to both my waterline and under eye. For me they glided on effortlessly and the color stayed in place.

My two favorite shades so far are the beYOUtiful bronze and the cheering chocolate (brown) but I really want to experiment with wonderful white.

I like the gel formula (it’s infused with antioxidants, emollients and Vitamin E) as it does feel very moisturizing on my skin. I also found these liners to have great staying power. Being over 40 I need a soft no-tug liner and these work for me! They also have a twist-up stick for easy use.

Retail Price: $28.50

The YBF Gelus Collection is part of my May Beauty Favorites!

Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette Review

I received the Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette in my March 2017 Glossybox and it’s a great affordable palette with nice shades.

What’s to love?

While this isn’t a high end product it’s a decent palette if you want to create a look based on these rose and purple shades.

c3.jpg

I swatched the shades from left to right…

  • Dark Purple – Shimmer
  • Deep Lilac – Matte
  • Medium Lilac – Shimmer
  • Rose Lilac – Shimmer
  • Rose – Shimmer
  • Light Rose – Matte

These are not the official names of the shades, I just went by the color. The 2 center shades are very similar too.

I do like how the colors blend and I was able to create a nice smoky rose look using this palette. The shades have a light to medium pigmentation and they have decent lasting power.

The plastic case is durable and you get a dual foam/brush applicator.

Overall if you like the colors I think Catrice is a good brand. Catrice was founded Christina Oster-Daum in 2004 in Germany and they are cruelty free. They started selling in the USA in 2014.

Retail Price: $6.99

Zuii Organic Flora Eyebrow Definer Review

I received a Zuii Organic Flora Eyebrow Definer in my Glossybox Pink Diamond Box. It comes in two shades: Taupe and Coco and I have the Coco shade which is a soft light brown.

Zuii has Certified Organic ingredients. Their products are made from flowers, food grade and free of preservatives, petrochemicals, parabens, talc or GM ingredients and nano particles. They are also Made in Australia.

What’s to love?

Aside from being certified organic this eyebrow pencil looks great. The Coco shade is soft and pretty and the non-greasy formula is easy to apply and it made my brows look soft and natural.

I think the best thing about the Zuii Flora Eyebrow Definer is that people who want a certified organic pencil have that option with a quality product.

Retail Price: $29.50

The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara Review

I received a full-sized tube of The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara in my May Birchbox and not only do I love the mascara, the packaging is so cute too!

What’s to love?

I have never heard of The Beauty Crop before but they have some nice stuff (their PBJ Smoothie Sticks look cool) including the Fabulous Flocking Lashes Mascara which is waterproof. The case is pink with some adroable pink flamingos adorning the tube but it’s the product that I really like.

The mascara formula has Argan Oil & Jojoba and it really does work to moisturize my lashes. I also had no goopiness or clumping and the wand is simple and straight which makes for easy application.

The only issue I has was that the wand was a bit hard to put back in the tube, however this kind of makes for a good function as any excess mascara gets wiped off when you pull the wand out which is nice.

It had decent staying power too with no flaking towards to end of the day.

The Beauty Crop products are 100% cruelty-free.

Price: $19.90

Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara Review

I’ve been wanting to try some brown mascara so I picked up the  Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara in Glam Brown. This was another $1 find at my grocery store! How cool is that?

What’s to love?

The Maybelline Volum’ Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara also comes in Glam Black however I was surprised to see that the Glam Brown is a very, very dark brown. It almost looks like a light black.

Aside from the odd shade I really like this formula. It has a very low odor and the wand is amazing. It’s super fuzzy and makes application pretty easy. I had no goopiness or flaking and my eye lashes did look super volumized. I wore it with no issues for the entire day and it lasted quite well.

I do like picking up drug store mascara because I blow through it so fast. Being a germaphobe I rarely keep mascara more than 60 days. I’ve always been a fan of Maybelline mascara and this one does not disappoint.

Retail Price: $6.99

It Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer Review

I won a prize pack from the It Girl Superheroes Program which included the It Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer.

bb.jpg

What’s to love?

I’ve never used a waterproof under eye concealer so I was excited to try this one out. I have the Medium shade.

According to the site it is Infused with high-performance pigments and anti-aging peptides, vitamins, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, the game-changing formula improves the appearance of wrinkles and effectively conceals the look of skin imperfections including dark circles, bags, redness, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, age spots and discoloration.

The product is pretty thick and a little goes a long way. I just rub a little bit under my eye and blend really well. They key for me is to keep blending. I have found when this product is still wet it looks a little heavy however once it dries it looks amazing on me. It completely covers my dark circles and uneven skin tones.

I did not have any creasing or flaking and this product blends perfectly with my other It products. It is also waterproof which for me means that it does not run or get melty in the heat.

Overall I am impressed and would get another one.

Now through 4/28 It Cosmetics is have a Friends & Family sale where you get 25% off your order and free shipping with a 30+ purchase. I just picked up the new Confidence in Your Glow palette!

It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara Review

Yesterday I reviewed the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder as I won a 5 piece set from the It Girl Superheroes Program so today I wanted to review the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara.

What’s to love?

I am so fickle when it comes to mascara and often times I use what comes in my subscription boxes because I hate keeping mascara more than a few months so I was thrilled to get a full-sized It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara as a prize.

According to It Superhero Mascara has Powerful lash-lifting polymers, volumizing collagen, strengthening biotin, proteins and peptides combined with Super Black pigment and the Lash-Changing Power Brush work together to coat every lash from base to tips.

I am very impressed with this mascara. The wand is simple, but effective. I usually judge  mascara by how easily I can apply it on my bottom lashes and this one did well.

I felt like it did lengthen and volumize my lashes and the lasting power is good. I actually took this photo 5 hours after I applied it. The other thing that I really liked was that I could not feel it on my lashes. It’s not heavy or goopy.

I did not get any flaking although I did have to wipe a little excess off of the wand before I applied it. Overall I’m happy with Superhero, it definitely feels like a high-end product and I’m excited to see if it conditions my lashes over time.

It is Made in Italy and the retail price is: $24

The It Superhero Mascara is part of my It Cosmetics video haul too so do check it out!
