Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet Review

This is my first experience with Caudalie and for some reason I thought that the Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet was a floral scent but it’s not, it has a delicious grape scent and it’s very nice. I got this sample from Sephora.

c

What’s to love?

The Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet is a Cream-Mask that uses Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Water and it does have a nice very light grape scent.

Oddly for me it worked better on my hands than my face. The light weight lotion immediately absorbed into the back of my hand and dried quickly. It almost melts into your skin. Afterwards my hand felt extremely soft. While it is a face cream I would use this product on my hands.

I think my skin is a bit oily to use on my face although it says it’s for all skin types. I didn’t have any irritation and I love that it’s formulate for “hypersensitive” skin.

I think this is a great product and I’m going to pass it on to my mom who has sensitive skin. It’s also supposed to reduce redness which my mom has.

Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Make-Up Primer in Champagne Review

I got this 1 oz. sample size of the Laura Geller  Spackle Tinted Under Make-Up Primer in Champagne from Ulta with a purchase and I am super impressed. I surely need a good spackle lately!

lg

What’s to love?

When you’re over 40 you’re always on the look-up for products that smooth and brighten skin and I think I’ve found one that works for me in the Laura Geller Spackle.

This oil-free, unscented primer is light beige with a hint of shimmer. I apply a thin layer on my face before applying my make-up and it does give me a nice healthy glow without being too shiny or slick. It also feels very moisturizing on my face. It it formulated with White Tea, Centella Asiatica and Aloe Vera Gel and it’s Made in the USA which I love.

It also does a great job at covering my dark circles which I need!

Laura Geller also has a cool Spackle Finder http://www.laurageller.com/spackle-formula-finder on their website. I’d also like to try the Control Oil and Shine formula.

Kiss My Face Olive & Aloe Lotion Review

My mother has been using the Kiss My Face Olive & Aloe Lotion for years so I decided to test it out for myself.

kmf.jpg

What’s to love?

Kiss My Face is an awesome brand that is Cruelty-Free and great for sensitive skin like my mom has. She’s never had any irritation or redness and she uses it on her face and body.

The white formula is fragrance-free although it does have a very mild scent that just smells like lotion if that makes sense.

It really moisturized my skin well and didn’t have a greasy feel at all. I used it on a dry patch on my elbow and it really softened up the skin.

Overall I’d use this lotion for dry Winter skin, I think it’s a great value for the price as the bottle lasts my mom for about 3 months.

The formula is also paraben and phthalate free and it’s Made in the USA.

Price $9.99

Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask in Vanilla Apricot Review

I got a sample of the Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask in Vanilla Apricot in my August Ipsy bag.

jm.jpg

What’s to love?

This mask is the perfect color for Fall! It looks very orange and the smell reminds me of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub that I used when I was in my twenties and aside from looking like an Oompa Loompa I give this one a 9 out of 10.

I’d say this is a basic clay face mask that dries fairly quickly.  I left it on my face for 5 minutes and washed off with a warm wash cloth. My skin felt soft after removing but the skin around my eyes felt just a little dry. I would have liked a little more moisture in the mask. My pores did seem a little bit smaller too. I’m wondering what age group this mask is targeted for.

The masks are “formualted with 100% Pure Argan oil” and are free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates which is nice.

I don’t think you can buy this mask as a single item which is interesting. It’s part of a 5-pack whipped mud mask set and I think I might like the Sweet Basil Mint better than the Apricot mask. I wish you could buy one scent at a time.

NYC Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator Review

Now that my Summer tan is fading I’m looking for something to boost my pale skin a little and I found the NYC Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator in my stash from the August 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag.

n1

What’s to love?

This light-weight Liquid Illuminator blends very well on my skin. I have the Gleam shade which gives me a nice all over Summer glow without being too overbearing. It’s got a bit of a peach color to it.

The swatch is pretty dark because I wanted to show the color out of the tube but once you blend it looks much lighter with just a hint of shimmer. This stuff really brightens my skin and I have no issue with irritation. I also feel like this product is more moisturizing than some illuminators.

The scent of this one is super light, not fragrance-free but very light and not unpleasant at all.

I would definitely buy this product for $7.50 and am interested in trying the Sunbeam shade which is a pale pink pearl.

My only issue is that I wish it was Made in the USA and not China.

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Review

This is a day of freebies! I got this Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream sample in one of my Clinique free gifts a few months ago and I love this product.

What’s to love?

I have this CC Cream in “Light Medium” which is a bit dark for my face. I need to pick up the “Very Light” shade. It has an SPF of 30 and is great as a concealer and sun protector.

What I love about this cream is that you can use it for spot coverage or apply all over with a sponge applicator. I use it both ways. The cream is super light and feels so soft and smooth on my face. It’s also 100% fragrance free (as are all Clinique products) which I love. I have oily skin and this product works great with my skin type.

Clinique CC Cream is “Naturally Radiant” while their BB Cream is “Semi-Matte/Matte”. I love the radiant look.

I carry this cream in my purse for touch-up too. Works so good on the go!

The Full-Sized price is $38.50

Borghese Cura di Vita Protettivo Protective Moisturizer SPF 15 Review

The Borghese Cura di Vita Protettivo Protective Moisturizer SPF 15 is a great Summer find and it smells amazing!

b

What’s to love?

Borghese is one of my tired and true products that I’ve been using for 30 years. This high quality face cream is one of the lightest I’ve used. It feels amazing on my skin and smells fresh and earthy. I truly love the smell of Borghese products.

This formula has Vitamins C and E and Squalane, Bisabolol and Hyaluronic Acid for moisturizing.

I spread a little on my face before I go to the pool or other outdoor sunny events for a little protection. I know you’re supposed to use a higher SPF but this one suits me fine.

I usually buy a Borghese Gift pack and get a bunch of products for a lower price. Just go to their website. Borghese also has amazing sales where sometimes you can get 30% or 40% off the Gift packs so I usually stock up when there is a sale.

Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Review

All I can say is…”Why didn’t I try this product sooner”? A few weeks ago I got my mom the Peter Thomas Roth 5 pack mask set at Sephora and I’ve tried the Irish Moor Mud and 24K Gold and loved them both.

So today I tired the Rose Stem Cell and I’m thrilled with the results.

p2

What’s to love?

Peter Thomas Roth and GlamGlow are my two all time favorite masks at the moment. I use GlamGlow for deep exfoliating and Peter Thomas Roth for repair and moisturizing.

According the the PTR website the Rose Stem Cell which contains five rose plant stem cells which are Rose Commiphora, Desert Rose, Damas Rose, Pale Rose and White Rose and they are blended with four rose extracts which are Rosa Damascena, Rosa Canina, Rose Hip Seed and Rose Water. So a lot of rose going on there!

I applied to mask to my clean face. It is a gel and feels cool and smooth to the touch. It has a light floral smell that’s also fresh and clean smelling, very nice and now overpowering. I covered my entire face with a fairly thick coating and let it set for 10 minutes. I’ll have to say that during the 10 minutes my face felt amazing and moist.

I wiped it off with a cool washcloth as directed and I swear there was less product  on my face than I started with. I feel like it absorbed into my skin which was cool. Afterwards my skin looked very smooth and my pores seemed a lot smaller (and I have huge pores on my nose, cheeks and skin).

Overall I loved this mask and intend to keep using it a few times a week to calm and soothe my skin.

Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Mask Review

My face is really looking good today! After using my Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser this morning I decided to do a Friday night mask and chose the Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold. I actually got a 5 pack of Peter Thomas Roth masks for my mom for her birthday but of course she let me try them out.

24

What’s to love?

First up 24k is gold! I mean really gold so that makes it mesmerizing to look at, but it’s also fun to apply. The texture is like a thick bouncy jelly and it goes on super smooth. Just slather on your face to cover. In a few minutes I looked like C-3PO’s sister.

You’re supposed to leave this mask on for 5-10 minutes and the claim is that it will tighten, lift, smooth, firm, brighten and refresh. I found this to be a super mild mask with no burning or tightening while it was on.

I kept my 24k mask on for the full 10 minutes. After that time it just gets sticky to the touch. This is not a peel off mask so it doesn’t dry completely.

I easily removed it with a wash cloth and warm water. It came off completely with no remaining residue.

Afterwards I did notice that my skin seemed a bit brighter and smoother. I didn’t feel an obvious tightening and I had no redness which is why I got this pack for my mom. I am hoping she has the same results.

I want to use 24k a few more times to see if I get the anti-aging effects. Overall I’m really happy with the results and am hoping that I see less fine lines over time.

Lush Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser Review

I decided I have a serious problem when it comes to Lush cleansers and face masks, I just love so many of them and like lipstick I love switching them up every week. This week I’m all about the Let the Good Times Roll cleanser.

What’s to love?

Not only does Let the Good Times Roll look like cookie dough it smells like it too. The main ingredients are Maize flour and corn meal which apparently are great at exfoliating because my face literally glows after using this cleaner. I use this in the morning because the scent is so pleasant, really makes you want cookies for breakfast.

To use simply pinch off a small chunk and mix with warm water in your hand. Then I rub in circles on my face for about 30 seconds and remove with a warm wash cloth.

Let the Good Times Roll also has good moisturizing properties so I use an oil-control mask in the evening like Cupcake or Mask of Magnaminty because my face is on the oily side.

So Yes! to another amazing Lush cleanser…I want to try Herbalism next.
