It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ Review

The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ is the next product I won from the  It Girl Superheroes Program. I’ve been using this now for over a week and despite my love/hate relationship with foundation I have to say that I love this one now.

What’s to love?

I actually had a bad experience the first time I used the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. I had a sample of the fair shade and I used WAY to much and ended up looking like a clown, the sample was Medium and it was to dark for me.  This time I got the Light shade and learned how to use it properly.

The full-sized product has a great pump and I just use a very tiny drop on my finger to apply. Once that drop is worked in a get a second drop. My whole face only takes 4-5 drops.

The key for me is blending! The photo on the left is just a drop rubbed on. The photo on the right is with proper blended. As you can see the right looks much better!

First let me say that back in the 80’s we had so few choices in terms of good foundation so a lot of people over 40 (like me) have a hard time adjusting to these amazing new formulas that actually blend with your skin. Most of the 80’s foundations wore like stage make-up.

Once I figured out how to apply the  Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream I was really starting to see that “flawless” look people are talking about. Now I’m completely addicted to this product. I really do feel like it is an anti-aging serum as my skin is looking better the more I use it. It is infused with an advanced anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E.

The scent of the cream is so appealing to me too. It’s a light citrus and smells really fresh and pretty. I also love that is has SPF 50+ because I am terrible at remembering to apply sunscreen once I’m out.

So overall I’m pretty addicted now! I also pair it up with the Bye Bye Pores and Bye Bye Under Eye for a completely amazing look.

Target Laneige BB Cushion Review

I received a really nice sample of the Laneige BB Cushion in my last Target Beauty Box and I finally got around to trying this unique product. It is sold exclusively at Target.

What’s to love?

The Laneige BB Cushion is a unique product. You get a sponge that contains the foundation and you apply it with an antimicrobial puff.

The product comes in Light, Medium, Medium Dark and Dark and has SPF 50+ Broad Spectrum Sunscreen. I got everything but the Dark shade in my sample.

The I used the puff to apply the light shade on my face although I found it to be a bit hard to transfer the foundation to the puff. You really have to press down on the sponge. It was however super easy to apply to BB Cream to my face from the puff.

The product is supposed to brighten, protect, cool/hydrate, prevent shine and be long-lasting. I found that it did all five pretty well. The product is super light-weight and felt nice my on skin. It also did a great job covering my dark under eye circles. I am 46-years-old and it blended really well on my uneven skin tone and texture.

The cream has little to no scent, maybe a bit of fragrance that smells nice. It’s more floral than earthy.

I’m still on the fence about this one. I like the product but the application felt a bit messy to me. I think I’d rather just apply the liquid to a make-up sponge.

Overall though the actual foundation is very nice, it feel like a high-end product.

NYX Pore Filler Review

I just picked the NYX Pore Filler and I am so impressed with this product. I have huge pores and this filler did just the trick to make my face smooth.

What’s to love?

This beige gel-like filler is super smooth and feels silky and dry upon application. It blended into my face and definitely diminished the appearance of my very large pores. I was shocked at how well it worked. I used it under my Clinique BB Creme for a smoother appearance. I have combination skin and the formula blended well on both my oily and dry areas.

I also love that it has no scent and did not irritate my skin. It is Made in Taiwan and while I wish all NYX was Made in the USA I do like this product.

This one is on my “must have” list from now on.

Price: $14 for 0.67 fl. oz. tube.

bareMinerals Get Started Complexion Kit Review

A few weeks ago I picked up the bareMinerals Get Started Complexion Kit in fairly light and I thrilled with it!

I know bareMinerals has been around forever and I’ve gotten other brands of mineral make-up but I never got an actual bareMinerals kit. Now that I have one it’s a staple!

What’s to love?

First I love the kits. You basically get a smaller version of each product so that you can try it out but I imagine this kit will last a good couple of months because you use such a small amount.

I also love that you get a high quality brush. I really think all kits should come with a brush!

Everything comes in this really cool zip close pack with a mirror so you can use this as travel bag too.

What’s in the kit?

Aside from the brush you get…

Prime Time Original Foundation Primer – This clear liquid gel applies as a primer for under your make-up. I can take or leave primer as my face is oily I tend to not use them. This one is non-oily and does have plant extracts, antioxidants and vitamins.

BareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15  – This is the staple of the kit and of the bareMinerals line. It’s a super fine mineral powder that you apply to your face. I love this powder. I use it under my make-up for a beautiful oil free finish.

You also get the Matte version of this foundation – I like to switch back and forth depending on the day.

Mineral Veil – The Mineral Veil is my favorite product in the kit. I use this light powder all over for a super smooth look. It really does minimize the look of my pores too. I will definitely be getting the full size product soon.

Eye Color – Honey Blossom – I like to apply bareMinerals eye color with a brush. It’s super light and looks luminescent and beautiful. Honey Blossom has specks of gold and looks amazing alone with just a bit of black mascara!

So overall I love this kit and have been using at least some part of it everyday. I will be trying more bareMinerals soon!
