Ulta Baked Eyeshadow Trio Review (and I got a free gift)!

I dropped into Ulta today because they have this neat 13 piece free gift with a $21.50 purchase and I needed some purple and gold nail polish so I ended up snagging that and some Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Michigan Avenue (which is 3 shades of blue).

What’s to love about the Ulta Baked Eye Shadow Trio?

I normally don’t wear blue eye shadow, even in the 80’s I went for the purples and the brown shades. I always feel like I have a black eye with the blues.

I got this one because it looked so pretty and I figured it might come in handy for a Halloween costume.

I’m still not completely convinced I love the blue shades but I did really like the Ulta Baked Eye Shadow Trio as a product and want to try the Haight & Ashbury purple shades next.

This trio comes with 3 shades which I found to be pigmented, blendable and super shimmery. Of course you’re not going to get the same pigment as a high end Urban Decay set but I wouldn’t expect that in a $10 product. It’s a great product for the price.

I paired my eye shadow up with the free Plush Drama Mascara and the free Dual Ended Eye Liner in Cobalt.

Another thing I liked is that this product is Made in Canada.

My free gift for spending $21.50 on Ulta products.

I was super excited to get this gift set for free with my purchases. I love the bag and getting another purple nail polish was a nice bonus. The Plush Drama Mascara is not my favorite but it’s nice to have a spare mascara on hand. I can’t wait to try the Mineral Powder and lip products. Getting 2 brushes was plus too.

Grown Men Will Love The Hot Wheels Car Maker

On a whim I got my husband and the kid a Hot Wheels Car Maker for Christmas and it has sat gathering dust until tonight. Snow and boredom caused the husband and the kid to try it out…

…and Whoa! This thing is pretty darn cool. I was worried it might be some sort of use once and trash (or fall apart) toy but this is like an Easy Bake Oven for boys and men.

First off it’s really well constructed and it talks. My husband put the car in wrong and it kept saying in a very cool computer voice “The mold is in wrong”. I though it would be hysterical if it said stuff like “Dumb ass, you’re doing it wrong” or “Duh, you suck”. I am so juvenile.

So once you get the mold in correctly the machine blinks and beeps while it makes the car. The finished product is awesome. They made a cool purple car with sparkles and it really works on Hot Wheels race tracks. The car is not cheap or sticky or stinky. It’s just plain cool.

So the people at Hot Wheel get an A+ for the machine, the only problem is that you get 3 chaises with the machine and I can’t find any more at a decent price. I could only fine 2 for $19.99. That’s really high.

So good machine, bad replacement parts.

The good news is that the grown man in your life will love this thing.
