Julep Judy! My Nails Shine Like The Eclipse Corona!

I wanted to do something fun for the eclipse today. I actually ordered the “Dance in the Darkness” set but it won’t be here until Wednesday so I decided to paint my nails with the Judy shade which is Moonbeam Iridescent Chrome. I got this in my Julep Fall All The Way Mystery Box!

I absolutely love this sparkly shade. It perfect for Fall, a Harry Potter party, Halloween and viewing the eclipse!

Dirty Little Secret Gold Plated Eyeshadow Chubby Crayon Review

I received a full-sized Dirty Little Secret Gold Plated Eyeshadow Chubby Crayon in my Summer 2017 Beautycon box and I’m loving it so far.

What’s to love?

The Dirty Little Secret Gold Plated Eyeshadow Chubby Crayon is in the shade Gold Plated and it’s got plenty of shimmer and shine.

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics was founded in 2014 and I’ve tried a lot of their products with great success. They Chubby Crayon is soft and applies very easily (there’s no tugging) and the color looks amazing. It’s a light shimmery gold and makes my over 40 eyes looks nice.

The Chubby Crayon does not have a scent and their site says they are cruelty free and vegan.

Covergirl Gold Star Wars The Force Awakens Lipstick Review

The geek in me is so love with this retired Covergirl Star Wars The Force Awakens Lipstick. I had gotten No. 50 in Dark Purple this summer and now have the No. 40 Gold shade which I like much better.

What’s to love?

My 12-year-old self would have worn this lipstick day and night as I was an extreme Empire Strikes Back fan back in the 80’s. The idea of having a Star Wars branded lipstick would have blow in mind in 1982.

Today I am genuinely thrilled to own this tiny bit of pop culture and I am all over this Gold (C-3PO) shade. It’s a gold/orange shimmer shade that looks surprisingly good for a novelty product. I would serious wear this one. It would also be great for a witch or Star Wars costume for Halloween.

The 6 piece set consists of 3 Dark Side and 3 Light Side shades. Dark Side is Dark Purple, Gold and a Berry Red while the Light Side is Lilac, White and Light Pink. I really want that White shade!

The pigmentation is really good on Gold although it feels a tiny bit grainy which I think is the shimmer.

I got this one on Amazon for $4.99 so they are still out there floating around if you want one.

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss Review

I got a super cool Borghese gift pack this week on sale with some nice make-up items I’ve been wanting. First up is the Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss in Brightside. This one retails for $21.50.

What’s to love?

This super shiny lip gloss is going in my holiday collection. Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss  is the shiniest lip gloss I have ever owned and while I wouldn’t wear it every day it looks really pretty for special occasions.

The Brightside shade is basically clear with major glitter and shimmer. The photo does not do it justice. You can wear alone or over a color for more shine. The product makes my lips look like glass and you do need a few coats to achieve this look.

The gloss smells like peaches which is kind of cool and it is a true gloss, meaning that it feels a bit sticky. If you’re used to lip gloss it’s normal but if you’ve been wearing mattes it might feel a bit strange at first. I personally love the feel, I think it hydrates my lips.

Overall I give this product a 10 for the amazing shine.

Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick Review

Today I got my Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipstick in the mail. I ordered the Flame Red color off of ebay for $11.99 and that included shipping from Singapore. I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of this lipstick, I was expecting it to feel cheaper. As you can see it has a plu colored flower and gold flecks encased in a clear jelly lipstick.

I’m not sure if this is a fake because I  bought it off of ebay but it feels authentic. The package has a Kailijumei.com QR code on the package and there is a production date and an expiration date.

The only odd thing is that a few words are misspelled on the back and the punctuation and sentence structure is a odd. For example it says…”first from the middle of the lower lip, hit a circle to the insideEvenly, and then coated with lip, Kylie finished the United StatesJelly lipstick, light SIP lips, so that makeup effect lasting.” WHAT???? That is weird.

The packaging is pretty with a metallic red case with a mirror. You pop up the lipstick by pressing on the bottom button of the case.

The lipstick itself is very pretty and has a nice vanilla scent and felt smooth on my skin. I tried it on my arm first and the color turned a light pink. The lipstick is completely smooth and is really quite beautiful to look at.

I could’t get a very good picture of my lips, the lighting was just strange. As you can see it looks very light pink, not Flame Red at all. Not sure if this is because of the way it reacted to my skin or if it’s just a defect. I was a bit nervous putting it on my lips seeing as though I wasn’t sure if it was fake but I didn’t have any bad reactions to it. To me it felt more like a lip gloss that an actual lipstick product.

Overall I think this is a really interesting concept and I’d love to see a company like Tarte to produce a Flower Jelly Lipstick. Not sure I’d wear this one but I love looking at it. It’s quite a neat product to have in my collection.

Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold Mask Review

My face is really looking good today! After using my Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser this morning I decided to do a Friday night mask and chose the Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold. I actually got a 5 pack of Peter Thomas Roth masks for my mom for her birthday but of course she let me try them out.

24

What’s to love?

First up 24k is gold! I mean really gold so that makes it mesmerizing to look at, but it’s also fun to apply. The texture is like a thick bouncy jelly and it goes on super smooth. Just slather on your face to cover. In a few minutes I looked like C-3PO’s sister.

You’re supposed to leave this mask on for 5-10 minutes and the claim is that it will tighten, lift, smooth, firm, brighten and refresh. I found this to be a super mild mask with no burning or tightening while it was on.

I kept my 24k mask on for the full 10 minutes. After that time it just gets sticky to the touch. This is not a peel off mask so it doesn’t dry completely.

I easily removed it with a wash cloth and warm water. It came off completely with no remaining residue.

Afterwards I did notice that my skin seemed a bit brighter and smoother. I didn’t feel an obvious tightening and I had no redness which is why I got this pack for my mom. I am hoping she has the same results.

I want to use 24k a few more times to see if I get the anti-aging effects. Overall I’m really happy with the results and am hoping that I see less fine lines over time.

Lush Sunny Side Bubble Bar Review

I am so excited about the Lush Sunny Side Bubble Bar. This gold glittery citrus bar shines like the sun!

What’s to love?

As many of you know I love many of the Lush Bubble Bars but it’s the first time I tried Sunny Side which is a lemony-orange delight.

This bar is actually huge, just a little bit smaller than The Comforter only tear shaped. The outside of the bar is glittery gold and is just beautiful.

I use a butter knife to cut off a chunk for the bath. This one makes a ton of bubbles and the glitter makes the tub sparkle although clean up is easy.

My skin also feels amazing after using this one and the kids love it!

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Argan Oil Blush Review

I picked up the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Blush today and it’s a mix of pink and glitter in a beautiful case.

What’s to love.

This new product from Physicians Formula is really neat. The nourishing Argan Wear formula was super smooth on my skin and felt light and airy. It also blends very nicely.

The palette is just beautiful too with a few shades of pink molded into a geometric shape with gold glitter on top. Design wise this product is an A+ as it comes with a gorgeous gold compact, mirror and brush. Total eye candy which was why I bought it.

Why it’s not a daily wear for me.

I’m 46-years-old  with fair skin and I just felt that that the glitter and pink was a bit too much. There are literally large flakes of glitter on your face upon application which is fine for evening or a wedding or a Duran Duran concert, I just can’t see wearing that much shimmer to work.

However the gold sits on the top of the product so I was wondering if the more you use the palette will the gold start to disappear? So I brushed off the gold with a cotton ball and it does seem less prominent.

So if you like glitter, use sparingly to get the maximum glitter factor. If you’re not that into the glitter simply wipe it off.

Overall it’s a neat and beautiful product for the price.
