Oscar Blandi Glossing Creme Review

I received a complimentary (free) Oscar Blandi Glossing Creme from Oscar Blandi. All opinions are my own.

According to Oscar Blandi the Polishing Creme gives gloss to hair, repels humidity, cuts down on frizz and prevents cuticle damage.

Ingredients include: Jasmine Flower Extract, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E & Keratin, Keratin Proteins, Weightless non-drying silicones and Cystine Copolymers.

What’s to love?

I used about a dime sized drop of the thick white creme on my dry hair to test it out. I have extremely frizzy hair and humidity really wrecks it in the Summer. I was really impressed with how much the creme tamed my Summer locks and gave them a nice shine. It gives a good gloss without looking greasy.

I was also able to brush my hair much better after using the Glossing Creme, it works as a great detangler. Oh and the scent! I am really loving the Jasmine…it’s very natural and not perfumey at all. It smells just like a Summer garden!

I would definitely purchase this product.

Retail Price: $25

Aveda Control Paste Review

Today the weather turned to snow and my Aveda Control Paste held up to the elements! We even made it out too see some Christmas trees.

What’s to love?

The Aveda Control Paste is a finishing paste with flax seed. For me it’s more pliable than wax and really gives my newly layered hair some texture and bounce. I take a very tiny amount and rub it between my palms then scrunch and style my hair with it. I love the look I get and it holds up in the snow and rain.

The paste isn’t heavy or greasy or oily at all. I also love the matte finish that it gives my hair.

I’m also a huge fan of the scent. It’s pure Aveda earthyness with the pure-fume scent which I love. The 1.7 oz. jar is $25 but I bet I get a year out of it. A little goes a long way!

Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Oil Review

I got a sample of the Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Oil in my Birchbox and one of my readers asked me to review it and I’m glad she did! This stuff is awesome!

ho

What’s to love?

I wasn’t sure I’d like putting oil in my hair and I think of oil as thick and goopy but I love this stuff! It’s got a very, very light texture and scent which is nice. I rubbed a dime sized drop into my palms and coated and scrunched my hair. I have super curly, thick hair that can be really unruly.

As you can see from the photos below my hair is much wavier in the after photo. I apologize for the bad lighting but I hope you can see that the hair oil also gave me a lot more shine, texture and shape. This oil also have UV and heat protection which is a bonus.

You can use this product on wet or dry hair but I really like it on dry! It’s a bit pricey at $40 for 3.4 fl. oz. but a little goes a long way.

I also like the slogan…For Sublime Softness. That it is. I definitely want this product.

Redken Fashion Waves 07 Review

Happy Labor Day all! I’ve been hunting for beach glass this weeked and thought it would be fun to review the Redken Fashion Waves 07. I got this full-sized bottle in my Summer Beautycon Box and the retail is $19.99.

What’s to love?

Redken reminds me of the 80’s. It has a great smell and is a quality brand. The Fashion Waves 07 is a Sea Salt spray that is supposed to give you nice textured waves. I gave my hair a couple of good sprays and scrunched and it did produce a nice look. I already have waves and I think the spray gave me some shine too.

The product is super light-weight and does not have any build-up or stickyness. It also works well on wet hair and gives me more volume when I blow it dry.

Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasures Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I have a ton of these Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasures Shampoo and Conditioner samples so I wanted to try them out. This set is from my August Allure Beauty Box. I do love that Garnier has been so generous will handing these out. I love trying a new product before I commit to buying.

What’s to love?

First I have to say that I’m a fan of the Garnier Fructis products and before I found the Lush Shampoo Bars I used it quite a bit. I do like to use regular shampoo occasionally to mix things up and I’m impressed with the Whole Bends Honey Treasures.

The product contains royal jelly, honey and propolis which makes for a very creamy nourishing formula. The white pearlized shampoo could almost be mistaken for conditioner it’s so creamy. The shampoo is not a high-lather product but feels silky and rinses clean. The conditioner is super creamy and more on the heavy side.

Both have a honey/caramel scent that has a touch of a purfumey smell. Meaning that it’s not super earthy but I liked it. It feels more like a salon product for a much better price.

I can see myself using Honey Treasures after I color my hair or when it feels more dried out as it is super conditioning. I will probably pick up the full-sized products soon.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight Review

One of my all time favorite hair products is the Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight .

a

What’s to love?

To say my hair is unruly is a major understatement. I have huge thick hair that’s neither curly or straight. It’s kind of wavy and bushy like Hermione Granger which is fine by me.

Luckily I found a great product to tame my hair. The Aveda Smooth Infusion is one of my “can’t live without” products. I apply a dime sized drop on my hands, rub together and then coat my entire head when my hair is wet. I usually air dry my hair and applyingSmooth Infusion first eliminates any fuzz. I also use it on my hair when it’s dry to get rid of static and smooth it down.

As with all Aveda products I love the smell. It smells fresh and earthy and strong which I love. Aveda has a truly unique smell that’s not perfumey but it is powerful.

My 5 fl. oz. was $26 and will last me 6-8 months which is awesome.

My hair will never completely straighten but the Smooth Infusion gets me darn close. Without it you might as well just compare me to a Texas tumble weed when it’s humid. So a huge Yay! for the Aveda Smooth Infusion.
