Lush Veganese Conditioner Review

The Lush Veganese Conditioner is supposed to be for fine hair but I like it a lot on my thick curly hair as well!

IMG_1502.JPG

What’s to love?

Veganese is a light Vegan conditioner with “a mineral-rich agar agar gel base to soften hair and a herbal rosemary and lavender infusion for a healthy scalp” and it has a lemon juice for shine.

The scent is unique and earthy. It does not smell lemony but more earthy and like seaweed but I do like the scent. The formula is very thin and works into my hair very well and does not weight it down at all. I’ll have to say that it does also make my hair very shiny too! I am really liking this conditioner.

Oscar Blandi Medium Hold Hairspray Review

I received a complimentary (free) Oscar Blandi Medium Hold Hairspray from Oscar Blandi. All opinions are my own.

ob

First this is not your 80’s Aqua-net! Hairspray has improved so much since my younger days when I’d spray my locks into a stiff helmet.

The Oscar Blandi Medium Hold Hairspray is made from Sugar, Honey Extract, Vitamin E and Panthenol (Vitamin B5) which plumps, moisturizes and reduces split ends.

This spray is so light and easy to control. I can barely even feel it going on and it left my hair soft and moveable while holding the style. I also love that it gives my hair some extra shine and volume.

It has a light floral scent of honeysuckle that isn’t to strong or overpowering.

Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray Review

I received a complimentary (free) Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray from Oscar Blandi. All opinions are my own.

ob

The Oscar Blandi Dry Heat Protect Spray is a hair protectant offers 450-degree heat protection and it’s enriched with keratin proteins. It is alcohol and Paraben free too.

I’m someone who uses a flat iron about 5 out of 7 days of the week so having a good protectant is important. I found this one to be very effective and my hair feels amazing.

The mist is very fine with this product and I apply 2-3 short sprays over my hair. It does have a nice Lemon Verbena scent.

I then let it dry for about 30 seconds before I start using my flat iron. I do notice that my straightener (I have a Chi) does pull more easily through my hair when I use this product and over time I think my hair does look more healthy.

You can also apply this product to damp hair before blow drying which I found helpful when I straighten my hair with my dryer.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner Review

When my hair needs a good deep conditioning I usually turn to Aveda. They are one of my favorite hair care products along with Lush. The Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner does a great job taming my locks and it smells so good.

a.jpg

What’s to love?

Dry Remedy has the classic Aveda Pure-Fume scent with with certified organic lavender, bergamot, ginger lily and other pure flower and plant essences.

I have thick wavy hair and the dry remedy gives my hair a nice smooth finish and tames my frizz a bit which is great for Summer. This formula applies like a cream but does not weigh my hair down either which I love. I usually leave it on for about 5 minutes.

And as an additional plus Aveda is having a 20% off + free shipping sale today if you use the code LOVE which is pretty cool.

Oscar Blandi Glossing Creme Review

I received a complimentary (free) Oscar Blandi Glossing Creme from Oscar Blandi. All opinions are my own.

According to Oscar Blandi the Polishing Creme gives gloss to hair, repels humidity, cuts down on frizz and prevents cuticle damage.

Ingredients include: Jasmine Flower Extract, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E & Keratin, Keratin Proteins, Weightless non-drying silicones and Cystine Copolymers.

What’s to love?

I used about a dime sized drop of the thick white creme on my dry hair to test it out. I have extremely frizzy hair and humidity really wrecks it in the Summer. I was really impressed with how much the creme tamed my Summer locks and gave them a nice shine. It gives a good gloss without looking greasy.

I was also able to brush my hair much better after using the Glossing Creme, it works as a great detangler. Oh and the scent! I am really loving the Jasmine…it’s very natural and not perfumey at all. It smells just like a Summer garden!

I would definitely purchase this product.

Bumble & bumble Seaweed Conditioner Review

I have to say my new favorite hair brand is Bumble & bumble. I picked up the Seaweed Conditioner this week and I love it!

bb

What’s to love?

The Bumble and bumble Seaweed Conditioner is very light and is a thinner consistency than a lot of conditioners I’ve used however that does not mean it’s ineffective.

After shampooing with the Lush Big Shampoo I applied about a quarter sized drop to my chin length hair. It was easy to work into my thick hair and the smell is amazing. It’s a fresh lime scent with a sea salt undertone. It’s so fresh and pretty. It also did a nice job of detangling my hair.

It was also very easy to rinse out and after a few uses I noticed that my hair has been super shiny and manageable. It does a great job on my frizz and I feel like every time I use it my hair looks better.

Overall I love it! This is going to be my new Summer conditioner and I’d like to try a few more products from Bumble and bumble.

Ingredients include: Ascophyllum Nudosum Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Sea Kelp) Extract and Spirulina Maxima Extract

Price: $25

The Bunble and bumble Seaweed Conditioner is part of my May Beauty Favorites!

Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment Review

My hair was in massive need of a treatment this weekend because I’ve been using my flat iron a bit more so I grabbed my Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment for some intense moisture for my locks.

What’s to love?

Aveda is my second favorite hair care product after Lush and when I’m in need of a deep condition I like to use the Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment. Luckily I have a bunch of sample sizes to get me through when I need some conditioning.

This one has the Aveda pure-fume scent but to me it’s a lot lighter than the shampoo scent. It’s scented with organic bergamot, mandarin, ylang ylang and other flower and plant essences. I really love this scent.

The creamy formula has quinoa protein and it makes a huge difference on my hair with just one treatment. I usually leave it on for a full 5 minutes after I really work it into my ends and then rinse. Afterwards my hair is soft, shiny and full and it looks even better when I use the Lush Karma Komba Shampoo Bar first.

Overall this is one of my favorite hair staples!

Price: $36 for 5 fl. oz.

Lush Shine So Bright Split End Treatment Review

I think the Lush Shine So Bright Split End Treatment is one product that I really needed yet I had no idea it even existed. When I was at Lush yesterday my mom picked up this tiny tin and said “this looks interesting”, so I picked one up…and wow!

Inside this little tin is a hair balm that works to improve split ends and it also tames fly-away hair which I definitely have.

What’s to love?

The Shine So Bright hair balm is so simple to use. I just rub my fingers in the pot and then run them down the ends of my hair to get the product on my hair.

l3

Shine So Bright is made from extra virgin coconut oil, olive oil, Shea butter and it’s even got fresh free range eggs to nourish and strengthen hair. The scent comes from orange flower, grapefruit, neroli and rosewood perfume. It smells so good to me, it smells citrusy and a bit earthy.

What I really love about this formula is that it does not make my hair greasy. It just tames my crazy locks and makes my hair smooth and shiny. I have not used it long enough to see how it works on split-ends long term but I’m happy to use this every day to find out.

The biggest comparison I have is the Aveda Control Paste which I love too. The Aveda Control Paste feels dryer while Shine So Bright feels like it has more oils in it.

Overall I am super impressed with this little pot of hair balm and I’m so glad I found it at Lush. This is one of the advantages of going into a Lush store. You get to try out the products and find new ones that you didn’t know existed.

Price: $9.95

The Lush Shine So Bright is part of my February Favorites on YouTube!

Aveda Control Paste Review

Today the weather turned to snow and my Aveda Control Paste held up to the elements! We even made it out too see some Christmas trees.

1

What’s to love?

The Aveda Control Paste is a finishing paste with flax seed. For me it’s more pliable than wax and really gives my newly layered hair some texture and bounce. I take a very tiny amount and rub it between my palms then scrunch and style my hair with it. I love the look I get and it holds up in the snow and rain.

The paste isn’t heavy or greasy or oily at all. I also love the matte finish that it gives my hair.

I’m also a huge fan of the scent. It’s pure Aveda earthyness with the pure-fume scent which I love. The 1.7 oz. jar is $25 but I bet I get a year out of it. A little goes a long way!
