Too Faced Diamond Highlighter Review

I am a huge fan of highlighters for my cheek bones. I feel like it lightens my over 40 skin and gives me a bit of a glow. The Too Faced Diamond Highlighter is a new favorite of mine both in design and product.

The Too Faced Diamon Highlighter comes in 3 shades: Diamond Fire (which I have), Fancy Pink Diamond and Canary Diamond.

The packaging is amazing! The box looks like a ring box and the product is shaped like a gem. It’s a work of art!

According to Too Face the Highlighter is a — Prismatic highlighter infused with real crushed diamond powder and light-reflecting pearls for extra luxe sparkle

I love that I’m wearing diamonds on my face! At first I was worried that this highlighter might be too light but it’s just perfect. It give my skin a nice glow high up on my cheeks without looking too bright.

A little goes a long way and the pan is huge so I suspect this one will last awhile.

Estate Dew Me Baked Highlight Powder in Afterglow Review

I received the Estate Dew Me Baked Highlight Powder in Afterglow in my February 2018 Ipsy Bag. Estate is a new company to me and the are cruelty free. Their Baked Highlighter comes in three shades Afterglow (lavender), Raindrop (blue) and Lit (yellow).

What’s to love?

The Dew Me Baked Highlighter comes in a pink case that I wish had a little more bulk. It feels a bit flimsy to me.

The powder itself is really nice. It has a gorgeous lavender sheen that has a unicorn feel. I’ve been using it on my cheeks and it looks very pretty.

It’s also super pigmented and does not flake or crease. I was super impressed at how well it blended too. I really thought this was a nice product.

It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free.

bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Review

I received a full-sized bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder in my Boxycharm July 2017 box and I am thrilled! I’ve been wanting this set since last year but never got around to getting it.

What’s to love?

The bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder duo has two large pans of pressed powder — one is matte and the other is glow.

Now I’ve seen that this product get mixed reviews but it really works perfectly with my fair skin. The matte powder works to give me a nice non-greasy look (I have oily skin) and the glow gives me a beautiful light shimmer that I love, it is infused with rose gold pearls and is super silky and light too.

Both powders also to a great job at minimizing my pores and lasts about 4-5 hours for me. Overall I am thrilled with this product!

Price: $32

What’s to love?

The trèStiQue Mini Highlight Stick comes in the shade Maldives Luminescent which is a creamy, shimmer gold. It’s a gel-cream highlighter that the application of the product was so smooth and gave my skin a nice pearlized luminescent look that had good lasting power.

The full-sized product also comes with a Perfecting Sponge to blend with.

Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminating Veil Review

I’ve been using the Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminating Veil from my Glossybox Limited Edition Pink Diamond Box and it’s a great illuminator that’s Vegan, cruelty free, fragrance free, Paraben and organic.

What’s to love?

If you’re looking for a highlighting veil that’s not over glittery this just might work for you. I was thrilled to have finally found a highlighter that doesn’t dry out my skin (it has Argan oil) and gives me a nice glow without the glitter. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good shimmer but sometimes I just want some glow.

It is “infused with madonna lily and poet’s narcissus to help brighten” which it does for me. It has very tiny sparkles that gives my skin a nice champagne glow. It looks pretty up close and from a distance.

I actually use a light sweep this powder on my entire face and do no get any creasing or caking. It does have a “barely there” feeling which I like on my light make-up days. It is a bit more powdery than creamy but not at all chalky and it is buildable. It also has decent lasting power, I usually touch up every 3-4 hours.

Overall I’m very happy with this product.

Retail Price: $30

 What’s to love?

I am a huge fan of highlighter sticks and use them daily. I love how they illuminate the my upper cheek area and I often use them down the center of my nose.

The Clinique version is a great addition to my collection. It’s a nice sheer natural beige shade with a pearlescent glow. It is completely fragrance free and non-greasy.

I also love how well this one blends. A tiny bit goes a long way and it matches my fair skin tone perfectly. It also feels very light on my face and has good lasting power. This one feel more like a sheer translucent cream than a heavy cover up.

This is a twist-up Chubby stick that is Made in Belgium.

Your Best Friend Dripping Bling Illuminating Creme Review

I received a complimentary (free) Dripping Bling Illuminating Creme from Your Best Friend and I’m quite impressed with it. This is my first experience with the Your Best Friend brand and I’m thrilled to be reviewing it for them. All opinions are my own.

What’s to love?

First up I am in love with this compact. It’s square (and easy to open) with a textured black glitter and some pretty blingy sequins in clear so that they look like diamonds.

The inside of the compact has a clear plastic cover that protects the product which is a neat feature. The product itself is a luminous cream that works as a highlighter. According to ybf it has “ultra-fine particles of crushed faux pearl pigments to deflect light and illuminate skin“.

I have to say this is a beautiful product and it does highlight my face without looking glittery or too shiny. The creme is silky smooth and blends very well into my over 40 skin without creasing.

You can also use this creme on other parts of your body (like your shoulders) for a little extra glimmer.

Overall I am super impressed with this highlighter.

Retail Price: $24.80 from ybf

The Your Best Friend Dripping Bling Illuminating Creme is also part of my April Favorites!

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter Review

Last week I picked up the Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter as part of my Target haul and it’s a nice product for when you want a lot of illumination.

m.jpg

What’s to love?

The Maybelline FaceStudio Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter comes in 3 shades 100 (Light/Iridescent), 200 (Medium/Nude Glow) and 300 (Deep/Gold). I have the 100 shade.

First, I have to say that a little goes a long way with this product. When I use too much I’m radiating shine. The formula is a very light pearl shade that has a pink/lavender hue.

I like using this high on my cheek bones and down my nose for a little extra illumination. It does blend very well however when I blend too much it does disappear. Once it’s dry I feel like it’s pretty much in place for me for the day. I like how it brightens my skin too.

It has a light scent that’s not floral or food. It’s more of a standard foundation smell and it’s Made in the USA.

Overall I like this product and would purchase it again.

Price: $9.99

What’s to love?

First I have to say that brow highlighters are my new “Over 40” best friend. These highlighters to wonders for making my eyes look brighter. I also love The BrowGal Highlighter Pencil.

The Chella pencil has a great consistency. It firm but not hard applies very easily. I just swipe under and over my brow and then blend with my finger. The Ivory Lace shade is so pretty and really brightens up my face. The Chella pencil also comes in Latte, Cappuccino and Cinnamon.

The pencil can also be used on the inner corners of the eye, down the center of your nose and along the lip line for extra facial highlighting. You will need a sharpener for this one too, it’s not a twist-up.

I’m also super excited that Ipsy is continuing to give high-end products (the full-sized price on the brow pencil is $18) in their bags. Ipsy is one of my favorite beauty subscriptions.
