I am a huge fan of It Cosmetics so it’s no surprise that I love the new It Girl 2017 palette.
What’s to love?
First off the bling factor is 100%, the case alone is worth the price of this palette. It’s really pretty and high quality.
The palette contains 4 mattes and 4 pearl shades although I Lovely and Darling feel more like sheers to me.
The base colors are amazing, I use them in the Superhero palette too and they cover dark skin really well.
I get no creasing and find the colors to be highly pigmented and they have great staying power.
Here’s what you get:
LEFT SIDE: – Beautiful: Neutral Base / Highlighting Color
– Glitz: Pearl Nude
– Lovely: Matte Nude
– Stunning: Pearl Bronze
– Divine: Matte Chocolate Brown
CENTER: – Blush: Ombré Rose with Highlighting Pink
RIGHT SIDE: – IT Girl: Brightening Base / Highlighting Color
– Charming: Pearl Champagne
– Darling: Matte Nude Pink
– Dazzle: Pearl Rose
– Brilliant: Matte Wine
Overall I think this is my new favorite palette. I hope they come out with a Version 2 that has some purple shades too.
First Impression video for the New It Girl Palette.
The new 2017 It Girl Palette is popping up just in time for the holidays and it’s dazzling. The compact cover literally glitters and the inside is just as pretty.
This palette contains 2 Superhero Eye Foundations which I love. I use these almost everyday from the Superhero Palette and they do an amazing job covering dark areas on my eyes.
You also get a Bye Bye Pores Blush in a nice pink ombré shade and 10 eye shadows in both long-wearing matte and radiant shade thata include:
The Ulta Fall 21 Days of Beauty brings on new deals each day from Sept. 3rd to Sept 23rd. Tomorrow for Labor Day the Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner is $8.50 and the BareMinerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder is $11.50.
May has gone super fast but I had a hard time picking just 11 favorites for my monthly favorites list. The funny thing is I seem to have a French theme going on here which is nice for Spring.
I hope you enjoy my May Beauty Favs video, it’s a bit dark because it’s raining here. Enjoy!
Julep Nail Polish – Meredith – Wonder Maven in Sea Mist Chrome is fast becoming my favorite Summer shade!
Bath & Body Works French Collection – More French inspired products! I am loving the Rose Champagnebody cream which has sparkling clementine, crisp bergamot, apple blossom, pink pepper and blonde woods.
Bumble & bumble Seaweed Conditioner – I use the Bumble and bumble Seaweed Conditioner a fews times a week to keep my hair soft and manageable.
Lush Cup O’ Coffee Face & Body Mask– I just got a new pot of the Lush Cup O’ Coffee Face & Body Mask and I still love how it makes my face glow.
It Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer – My final favorite is the It Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer. This product has been doing wonder for my under eye discoloration!
So there you have it! 11 favs for May. I can’t wait for June.
As Summer is starting to roll in I’ve got my SPF arsenal ready for the sun. So far I’ve been relying on to protect my face from those UV rays.
I’m starting to lean towards more organic sun protectors this year too.
Coola Make-Up Setting Spray SPF 30 – This 70% certified organic spray feels very light weight on my face and works well with my make-up. I love having that extra protection in a spray. It’s also free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.
Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – I’ve been using Tarteguard on my hands and arms as well as my face. It’s Tarte’s first non-chemical sunscreen with active ingredients of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. It is free of Parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates and gluten.
Revlon Kiss Lip Balm In Juicy Peach – I am loving this SPF 20 lip balm. It comes in Tropical Coconut, Fresh Strawberry, Sweet Cherry, Crisp Apple and Berry Burst and Sweet Cherry is my favorite! It feels soft without being greasy or sticky and it tastes and smells so good.
The palette contains 12 shades. The top 3 shades are Confidence (matte), Paw! (matte) and Magical (shimmer). These can be used as a base, shadows or highlighter/bronzer.
The 9 bottom shades are grouped in a trio:
Superhero Nudes
Limitless (metallic gold/beige)
Powerful (metallic light pink/beige)
Aura (metallic gold/brown)
Superhero Neutrals
Unstoppable (metallic gold)
Superstar (metallic mauve/purple)
Fearless (metallic brick)
Superhero Liners
Bold (matte dark blue
Daring (matte brown)
Superhero (matte black
The three top shades do work well as eye foundations to color correct. The light Confidence shade really brightened up by eyes and reduced discoloration.
According to It Cosmetics “Each formula is infused with antiaging ingredients, including hydrolyzed collagen, silk, and peptides to nourish and smooth the look of your eyelids.” I have not owned this palette long enough to see any anti-aging results but the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Essentials Matte Eyeshadow Palette does make my eyelids look very smooth and pretty.
The shades themselves go on smoothly and the Neutrals are my favorites. They are on the powdery side but not at all chalky and they adhere well to my lids.
Overall I am really loving this palette and the Superhero branding just makes me smile.
I also got an It Superhero 4-in-1 brush that can be used as an all-over brush, crease brush, smudger brush and liner brush.
Also be sure to check out my First Impression video of the It Superhero palette.
I actually had a bad experience the first time I used the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. I had a sample of the fair shade and I used WAY to much and ended up looking like a clown, the sample was Medium and it was to dark for me. This time I got the Light shade and learned how to use it properly.
The full-sized product has a great pump and I just use a very tiny drop on my finger to apply. Once that drop is worked in a get a second drop. My whole face only takes 4-5 drops.
The key for me is blending! The photo on the left is just a drop rubbed on. The photo on the right is with proper blended. As you can see the right looks much better!
First let me say that back in the 80’s we had so few choices in terms of good foundation so a lot of people over 40 (like me) have a hard time adjusting to these amazing new formulas that actually blend with your skin. Most of the 80’s foundations wore like stage make-up.
Once I figured out how to apply the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream I was really starting to see that “flawless” look people are talking about. Now I’m completely addicted to this product. I really do feel like it is an anti-aging serum as my skin is looking better the more I use it. It is infused with an advanced anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E.
The scent of the cream is so appealing to me too. It’s a light citrus and smells really fresh and pretty. I also love that is has SPF 50+ because I am terrible at remembering to apply sunscreen once I’m out.
So overall I’m pretty addicted now! I also pair it up with the Bye Bye Pores and Bye Bye Under Eye for a completely amazing look.
