Rodial XXL Lip Liner Review

I’m always thrilled to get a new lip liner and the Rodial XXL in Nude is a nice one. This one came in my May 2017 GlossyBox.

What’s to love?

The Rodial lip pencil has Vegetal Filling Spheres and Hyaluronic Acid for smoothing. It comes in 3 shades: Pink Espresso (dark pink),  Baby (soft pink with a slight metallic sheen) and Nude (matte dusty pink shade). I have the Nude shade.

I am loving this lip liner! It is smooth, soft and I don’t have many light lip liners, this one will be perfect for Summer. It is also waterproof and anti-feathering. I did find the pencil to be long lasting and pretty.

My only problem was with the twist-up tube. It’s not twisting up for me right now and I’m not sure if it’s stuck or if this is just a sample product for Glossy box.

Also be sure to check out my May 2017 Glossybox that has the Rodial XXL Lip Liner.

Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Lipstick & Liner in One

Holy Moly! I want one of the brand new Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Lipstick & Liner in One. They are a semi-matte lipstick and liner all in one and I’m really hoping they work as good as they look.

The theory behind this product is that the teardrop shaped lipstick has two shades and that the one at the top of the teardrop will “line” your lips. Of course you’ll have to make sure the liner end is in the correct position when you apply on your bottom lip. So you’ll need to do a flip.

The packaging is also uniquely Benefit with a futuristic silver case that’s larger on the bottom for what I am assuming is an easier grip. Benefit calls this an “ergonomic shaped component”. The price for these double lipsticks is $20 each and they look amazing!

They come in 8 duo shades including:

  • Nude Scandal pinky nude
  • Criminally Coral sandy coral
  • Lusty Rose rosy neutral
  • Revved-up Red cherry red
  • Flame Game fiery orange-red
  • Pink Thrills real pink
  • Fuchsia Fever electric pink
  • Juicy Berry very berry

NYX Ombre Lip Duo Review

Total honesty here…I was expecting to hate the NYX Ombre Lip Duo in Peaches & Cream. I got it as part of the Summer 2016 Kandee Johnson Beauty Con Box.

This product looks super orange on the box and while I imagined my 17-year-old Boy George loving self might like it I didn’t think my 2016 self would want to wear it out of the house. But…I was kind of wrong.

What’s to love?

This lip pencil has two ends. A dark orange thin liner and a thicker lighter orange side for the middle of your lips. Application is a breeze, the product is really nice and smooth. However after you line your lips with the dark orange you kind of look like a clown. It’s not until you fill in the center with the gold and blend that you get the final look which has a semi-matte finish.

I was pleasantly surprised with the final result. It actually looks pretty good although I’m not a huge fan of orange lipstick. I would like to try a wine or pink color next.

I was also totally impressed that this product was Made in the USA and had very low odor. This is my first time trying anything from NYX and I’d like to try more. The lip pencil costs $12 and it’s definitely worth it.

Small tip – Make sure you twist the pencil down before you cap it. I squished mine a little and had to do some surgery. Happy to report that it survived.
