I was cruising around the internet looking for the new eyeshadow palettes coming in 2017 and I came across a preview for the Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Palette which is definitely on my list of must-have palettes.
I love using artsy eye palettes, but I love collecting them even more. I’m not to into collecting kitsch but eye palettes are another story. The palette is supposed to have an angelic “saint” side and a more bold “sinner” side. The colors from the preview look amazing and I’m a huge fan of the Kat Von D eyeshadows so this should be a treat.
I really love the small Too Faced palettes in the tins. I have the Peanut Butter & Honey palette and the Country Palette and I really like both of them so when I saw that the Cat Eyes palette from 2014 was on sale for $18 from Too Faced I snatched it up!
What’t to love?
I love the retro 60’s/80’s vibe of the Cat Eyes palette. The colors are just gorgeous and the 3 dark shades can be worn wet or dry.
From left to right you get: Tiger’s Eye (shimmer), Pussy Cat (shimmer) Kitty Glitter (this one is a light blue with white glitter), Leopard (glitter), Jungle Love (glitter) and Panther which is a matte black.
You also get 3 highlighter shade (I did not swatch these as they are so light) in Purr (shimmer), Meow (matte) and Kitten which is a pink shimmer shade.
I found these shades to be very pigmented and dark. They also blended so well. My favorite shades are the brown Tiger’s Eye and the purple Jungle Love. I do wish they had the classic chocolate Too Faced scent. I really prefer the food scented palettes, this one has no scent.
Overall I am thrilled with the colors and quality I got. I really like collecting these small Too Faced tins, the packaging is adorable with the leopard print with black, gold and pink.
The Cargo Around The World palette has 6 matte and 6 shimmer shades all in neutral tones and you get an average quality duel-ended brush. The case is cardboard covered and you do get a nice mirror.
From left to right you have: Rome, Paris, Tokyo, London, Amsterdam, New York, Shanghai, Moscow, Athens, Dublin, Madrid and Toronto. I think it’s neat to have the shades match a city name too.
The shades themselves are nice but the pigmentation varies from shade to shade. The shimmer shades are much smoother than the matte ones. My favorite shade is New York on the far right which is a pretty dark brown.
I found the staying power to be average. They didn’t last all day but I found them to be good for about 4-5 hours.
I think this is a nice daily-wear palette if the colors are appealing to you.
Overall I’m not sure I would have bought this palette because it wasn’t on my radar but it was very cool to get in my Beautycon Box.
Check out the Cargo Cosmetics Around The World Palette in my Beautycon Box Reveal too!
Happy March 1st! Everywhere I look there seems to be new cosmetic products popping up so I did a little digging and found 5 new beauty products that are launching in March.
Which products do you want to try first?
The Too Faced Peanut Butter & Honey Eyeshadow Palettefeatures brown, gold and amber and seems to be a continuation of their Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette. I like the sparkly Bee’s Knees shade so much. Price: $36
Next up from Too Faced is the Natural Love Eye Shadow Collection that’s coming on March 9th. These shades look amazing to me. I love the pink shades in this palette and the purple Love Bug looks pretty too. Price: $59
The new Covergirl TruNaked Jewels Eyeshadow Palette is a beautiful mix of bold colors and naked metallics. I am very impressed with this new product from Covergirl. You get a combination of matte, shimmer and sparkly.
What’s to love?
I really love the shades in the Covergirl TruNaked Jewels Eyeshadow Palette. I was looking for a bold purple shade and it was more cost effective to buy the palette than an individual shade.
All of the shades except Quartz (which is a matte) are shimmer or sparkly and they have a very strong pigmentation. I did find the matte Quartz shade to be a bit chalky.
From left to right the colors are: Pearl (sparkly), Quartz (matte), Sunstone (sparkly), Amethyst (shimmer), Sapphire(shimmer), Green Amber (sparkly), Gold (sparkly) and Onyx (shimmer).
I used my finger for the swatches and a tiny bit of product went a long way. The Amethyst, Sapphire and Onyx shades were the darkest for me and the Green Amber is such a unique color.
I also love that I have a few more shimmer nudes in my collection. I use those all the time.
I created a fun dramatic 80’s look with Amethyst and Pearl and I think it looks very pretty. I used the foam applicator that’s included in the palette and I think I’d have an even nicer look if I used a good blending brush.
I can see using this palette for day or night looks and it’s one of the most versatile drug store palettes I now own.
The product has zero scent which is nice because sometimes I’ll get a product with an odd chemical smell. This one has no odor. It’s Made in Canada too.
Overall I’m very impressed with this new Covergirl Palette. I hope they spin it off with some new color combinations. I’d love to see some silver shades.
Price: $9.98 from Wal-Mart
The Covergirl TruNaked palette is part of my February Favorites on YouTube!
A few days ago I got a nice It Cosmetics haul that included the Naturally Pretty Essentials Matte Eyeshadow Palette (I did not get the Superhero Mascara) and I’m really impressed with this little palette.
What’s to love?
The case on this palette is unique in that it’s got a puffy cardboard top with a magnetic closure. It also comes with a small mirror but it does not have a brush.
Naturally Pretty is a nude matte palette with 6 eyeshadow shades and the Transforming Hello Light in Radiant pearl which transforms a matte into a satin. Or you can use it has a highlighter.
I swatched the shades, from left to right you get Allure: smoky gray, Intrigue: brown earthy sepia, Passion: nude taupe, Imagine: silk beige, Wonder: nude khaki and Dream: desert sand.
The shades that I like most the the Intrigue brown and the Imagine silk beige. This anti-aging formula is talc-free and it really was smooth for me. This is one of the nicest nude palettes I’ve used.
I found the pigmentation to be strong considering these are nude shades. I did not use an It brush but I did notice that my brush picked up a lot of product when I dipped it in. Below I am wearing the brown and beige shades. I had no creasing and I love how pretty this shadow looks. I am wearing the It Hello Lashes mascara too.
Overall I am very impressed with this palette and I’d like to try more It eyeshadow shades.
If you want to see what else I got in my It Cosmetics Haul check out my YouTube video. I will be reviewing more of these product right here on my blog in the coming weeks.
Eye shadow Palette shades in Lace, Charm, Nostalgia, Vintage, Delicate, and Seaside -This eyeshadow palette is quite pretty. You get a two-sided foam applicator too. The aqua Seaside shade is gorgeous and pigmented and the Nostalgia and Delicate shades are nice metallics.
Cheek Palette shades in Fresh Glow Highlighter and Nude Pink Blush –This duo is perfect for highlighting and as a dark blush. The shimmer on the Fresh Glow is really nice.
Full Size Matte Lipstick in Petal (limited edition) and Lip Gloss Stain-Treason – This matte lipstick is so nice. It’s a deep reddish brown matte with amazing pigmentation. The Lip Gloss Stain is nice too, although it’s a bit bright for me and it smells like vanilla.
Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener, Full size Amped Mascara in Jet Black, Dual Eye Liner-Majesty and Smoke, Eye Makeup Remover Pads – I love that I also got a sharpener and make-up removed pads, I’ll try those out. The Ulta Amped Mascara is nice, I’ve used this before and the eye pencil has neat purple and black shades.
You also get…
Full Size Brow Tint in Medium
Full size Nude Matte Eye Shadow Primer
Blush Brush
Coupon $5 off any $15 Ulta Beauty cosmetics or brush purchase
I am really happy with this gift. You get a lot of nice products just for making a $21.50 purchase and if there’s something you don’t like you can always gift it.

I am a huge fan of movie/beauty collections and up until now the Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette has been one of my favorites. However LORAC just announced a new Pirates of the Caribbean collection based on the new movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and I’m sure it’s going to be a “must have” for me.
I am a huge fan of Johnny Depp and the Pirates of the Caribbean series and I can just imagine what colors this collection might contain. I’m thinking golds, greens, purples and reds. Oh and I really hope there is a dark red lipstick in that box.
The collection is called Treasure in the Stars and according to Popsugar it’s going to hit the stores (including Ulta) around Memorial Day weekend.
LORAC posted a picture on Instagram and I really am giddy for this treasure chest to come out. Now if they’d just make a Harry Potter palette!
There are a couple of new eyeshadow palettes that I really want to get my hands on in 2017 from Kat Von D, Jeffree Star, Tarte and Urban Decay.
I love that the 2017 beauty trends are so unique and creative. I’m never bored with beauty!
Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette – This one is sold out at Sephora and online at Kat Von D and I’m hoping it comes back in stock soon. There’s something so mesmerizing and pretty about these holographic shades. What’s cool about this palette is that you can build on black or brown for an entirely new look.
Kat Von D Pastel Goth Eyeshadow Palette – Kat has been busy in a good way with another stellar palette! Pastel Goth has got some amazing looking matte shades that I’d love to try out.
Jeffree Star Androgyny Palette – I have yet to try anything from Jeffree Star but I really want to try one of his palettes so I figure I’ll try to get the new Androgyny palette that’s coming out in March. It’s supposed to be a “neutral palette” with a twist!
Urban Decay After Dark Palette – I love jewel tones and the Urban Decay After Dark palette is loaded with shimmery color. Those purple shades are calling my name!
This palette is pretty much sold out now but I wanted to share the Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette because it’s so darn beautiful!
What’s to love?
The Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette is based on the movie with the same name. I love it when Urban Decay does this and I’d love to get my hands on the Glinda and Theodora Palettes which are based on The Wizard of Oz.
First up the packaging is a definite collectors item. The top of the palette opens up to reveal a 3-D butterfly and the entire box has jewel tone colors. There is a drawer on the bottom that pulls out to reveal the palette and you also get an “Alice” themed dual-ended brush.
This palette is so versatile and brilliant I literally could not figure out which color to try first. Each color of the 20 shades has an “Alice” themed name like Hatter, Gone Mad and Heads Will Roll.
I swatched a few of my favorite colors and did a quick application with Cake (pink) and Paradox (orange). These shades are so smooth and luxurious. They shimmer and blend very nicely too.
