Too Faced Dew You Fresh Glow Luminous Face Primer Review

I just picked up the new Too Faced Dew You Fresh Glow Luminous Face Primer and I am loving it! This is going to be my new Summer favorite.

The Dew You Face Primer comes in 3 shades: Radiant Pearl, Radiant Nude and Radiant Carmel. I have the pearl shade. It’s super translucent.

What I love about this product is that it’s super moisturizing and it smells like watermelon and cucumber.

As described, Dew You is completely weightless. I hate wearing heavy products in the Summer and this one feels so refreshing on my face. I also found that it works so well under my make-up. I am a huge fan of the It Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer and when I apply this concealer over the Dew You it feels amazing! No more tugging under my eyes, it just glides right on.

I would call the Too Faced Dew You a fresh primer that makes my skin feel light and refreshed and I love that I get a little bit of glow without a hard shimmer. I truly do feel luminous!

Dr. Brant Pores No More Luminizer Primer Review

I received a 1 fl.oz. tube of the Pores No More Dr. Brant Luminizer Primer in my January 2018 Boxycharm and I just started using it this month. This is the full-sized tube and the retail is $38.

What’s to love?

For me the Dr. Brant Pores No More Luminizer Primer is comparable to the clear Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, only this one has color.

I used it all over my face and I feel like it did an amazing job brightening my mature skin (I’m 48) without caking or looking heavy.

I do tend to have oily skin but this product didn’t add any oil, instead it gave my face a nice matte finish and I feel like my pores did look a lot smaller.

Overall I am really thrilled with this product and would purchase it.

It is also free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.

You can see the Dr. Brant Luminizer Primer in my January 2018 Boxycharm review!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Elcat Blur Primer Review

I received a bottle of the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Elcat Blur Primer in my June 2017 Allure Beauty Box  and it feels like getting gold in a bottle!

What’s to love?

This neat product is a bit hard to describe. It’s an “illuminating primer that blurs imperfections and boosts the radiance of foundation“. It also has four nourishing oils—corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil in a clear base that has gold flecks in it.

I found it to be super easy use. I simply applied a tiny amount (a little goes a long way) all over my skin before applying my make-up. I didn’t even need the applicator, I just used my finger. The primer is goopy and needs to be rubbed in well.

Once I rubbed it in it felt soft on my skin and my pore did appear a bit smaller. I was easily able to apply my make-up over it. I’m not sure the gold fleck actually made my skin glow because my make-up went on over it but they are super pretty. This primer feels super luxurious and I really liked the over all look.

Full-Sized Price: $52

Here’s what I got in the June 2017 Allure Beauty Box!

What’s to love?

When you want your lashes to look really professional I believe that lash primers do work. The They’re Real Mink Brown Tinted Lash Primer by Benefit made my lashes look pretty amazing.

I applied the brown formula to both my upper and lower lashes. The wand is simple but very effective. I has zero clumping and it applied so smoothly. I would actually where this by itself for a casual look. It’s very natural looking.

The purpose of the product is to boost lengthen, lift & separate when paired with your favorite mascara. It is also water resistant and conditions with provitamin B5. My lashes felt soft and natural with this primer.

I allowed my primer to dry for 10 minutes (I like to make sure it’s completely dry) and then applied Benefit Roller Lash in black. As you can see from the photo above I think my lashes look pretty darn nice. It definitely lengthened and separated them.

I also had zero irritation from this mascara and the scent is fairly light to me. It is Made In France.

Overall I love this primer as a stand alone mascara and a buildable product. It has great staying power and looks nice at the end of the day. I would buy the full-sized product.

Price: $24

Beauty Reviews, Urban Decay

There’s A New Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion In Town!

Over Christmas I got my hands on the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging for just $5.99 and I have to say this is a life-changing beauty product! I’m actually embarrassed that I haven’t tried this product before now! It has done wonders for my eyeshadow application and my fine eye wrinkles. I love this stuff!

The old packaging (pictured below) is a tube that you can squeeze to get the product out. A tiny bit goes a long way. I apply to both my lids up to my brow, let it dry for a for about 30-seconds and then apply my eyeshadow which looks so much prettier with this primer and no creases…at all. This potion also has very little scent. is paraben-free and is Made in the USA.

Again…have I been living under a rock? (*nods head emphatically).

Here is the new packaging for the Urban Decay Primer Potions. The new potions come with a doe foot wand for application which I think is a great upgrade.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter Review

I think I have finally found the perfect primer for my skin type. Awhile I got a sample of the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter and after a few weeks of use I bought the full-sized bottle for $38.

What’s to love?

This primer is one of the lightest weight ones that I have tried. It almost feels like a mousse. You use a pumper to dispense the product and I usually use a dime sized dot on my entire face.

It gives me a nice luminous glow while making my face a more even tone. I then apply my make-up on top. This formula just works perfectly with my fair combination skin. It never makes my skin oily and I feel more moisturized when wearing it.

It does have a very slight floral fragrance but it does not bother me at all. I also love the cool gunmetal top on the packaging.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer Review

I love the idea of priming my lashes and I think I hit the jackpot with the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer that I got in my November Target Beauty BoxNovember Target Beauty Box.

lm

What’s to love?

The L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer is meant to thicken lashes, amplify mascara and condition lashes over time. I think it did all three for me!

The white formula comes with a very user-friendly wand that I love. I hate when mascaras go overboard with a fancy wand that doesn’t work. This one is perfect.

The actual product is of average consistency and applies easily. L’Oreal recommends applying mascara before the primer dries and that worked well for me. I like that this product has a pleasant smell too. It almost smells like a lotion to me and I’m glad it’s not floral.

I noticed a definite lengthening of my lashes and I think you can really see this in the photo on my lower lashes. I’m wearing Urban Decay Perversion Mascara on top of the primer. I have had no irritation from this product either.

Overall I am thrilled with this primer, it has excellent quality for the price too.

Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Make-Up Primer in Champagne Review

I got this 1 oz. sample size of the Laura Geller  Spackle Tinted Under Make-Up Primer in Champagne from Ulta with a purchase and I am super impressed. I surely need a good spackle lately!

lg

What’s to love?

When you’re over 40 you’re always on the look-up for products that smooth and brighten skin and I think I’ve found one that works for me in the Laura Geller Spackle.

This oil-free, unscented primer is light beige with a hint of shimmer. I apply a thin layer on my face before applying my make-up and it does give me a nice healthy glow without being too shiny or slick. It also feels very moisturizing on my face. It it formulated with White Tea, Centella Asiatica and Aloe Vera Gel and it’s Made in the USA which I love.

It also does a great job at covering my dark circles which I need!

Laura Geller also has a cool Spackle Finder http://www.laurageller.com/spackle-formula-finder on their website. I’d also like to try the Control Oil and Shine formula.

Beauty Reviews, Cover FX

Cover FX Illuminating Primer Review

I got this Cover FX Illuminating Primer using my Sephora points and I want the full-sized bottle. This illuminator is great for people over 40 like me.

What’s to love?

I think my favorite thing about the Cover FX Illuminator is that it’s light-weight. This smooth and feather-light formula glides over my skin and blends flawlessly. Being over 40 my skin needs all the brightness I can get and this one delivers.

This one does not have a lot of shimmer but that’s ok because I don’t always want shimmer every day. I love how easily my make-up goes on after application too.

The formula has Hylasome EG10 (not sure what that is) in it that’s supposed to hydrate skin which is great for me too.

AND last but not least it’s Made in the USA!

The full-sized price is $38 which is pricey but a tiny bit goes a long way and that’s about the average price for a high-end primer product.

Beauty Reviews, Benefit

Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer Review

I got this Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer for redeeming 100 of my Sephora points which was pretty cool. I love the entire Benefit brow collection and am always happy to add a new product to the mix. This one is a brow conditioner and primer.

What’s to love?

This product intrigues me because  I had no idea that I needed to condition my brows. However when you think about it it’s a great idea as brows do tend to get thin and wild. The Browvo! contains keratin & soy proteins which is supposed to promote thicker brows. I’m going to see if this is true by using the sample for a week or so.

Benefit of course did an amazing job on the Star Trek geek meets the 1950’s style packaging and product design. This line is ingenious.

The tube itself has a removable silver cap that reveals a plastic comb type applicator. You’ll need to twist the bottom and “click” in order to get the product through the top hole. I had to click about 50 times the first time I used it. Once you see a small amount of clearish aqua clear on the comb pad simply swipe on your brows. The scent is fresh and clean and smells nice.

The product felt nice on my brows and dried quckly. You can use Browvo! alone or use it as a primer for your regular brow routine.

I’m excited to see how this works. One neat tip on the benefit site is to apply in the evening and wear all night to condition your brows.

My sample size is 1.0 mL. The full-sized product is 3.0 mL and costs $28.00.
