Bath & Body Works FRESH CUT LILACS Candle Review

The Bath & Body Works FRESH CUT LILACS Candle for Spring 2021 is not only beautiful but really strong. The scent notes are Lilac Bouquets, Dewy Greens, Soft Spring Air.

14.5 oz Burn time 25-45 hours. Soy wax blend.

The Bath & Body Works Fresh Cut Lilacs candle is very true to a fresh lilac bush. The scent is a true floral and I found the scent to be fresh and clean. It’s beautiful!

The jar is a light purple with a White Barn branding and gold painted trim. The lid is a pretty gold tone.

I found that Fresh Cut Lilacs easily filled my large living room with scent and was almost too strong in my 160 sq ft office.

It’s a great candle for Spring or Summer.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Lust Palette Collection – First Impression

I ordered the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Lust Palette on the Friday Feb 21st release date and it just arrived today which was super speedy! I was super excited that Jeffree Star Cosmetics now has a purple palette and this one is divine!

First up the presentation is phenomenal! My products arrived extremely well packed with purple bubble wrap and branded purple tissue paper. Everything was perfect and intact!

The Blood Lust Collection consists of a palette, mini purple lipstick bundle, purple Extreme Frost, 5 purple The Gloss shades, 3 new mirrors and various swag!

I purchased the Blood Lust Palette, 2 shades of The Gloss and the Crown hand mirror

The star of the Blood Lust collection is most certainly the Artistry Palette. The case is a beautiful crushed velvet in purple with a crown logo. It has a jewelry clasp and it’s amazing! The palette has 18 shades that range in hue from light lavender (Deviant) to a block sparkle (Executioner). The shade in between include a super metallic pink called Pink Magic and the daring red Bleeding Heart. On first swatch the shades are pigmented and smooth!

I also got The Gloss in Sorcery and Wizards Glass! These are so shiny and sparkly and I went Lord Star next!

Sorcery – Light peach with pink, purple and blue reflects.

Wizards Glass – Bronze with pink and gold reflects and a minor purple reflect.

Overall I am thrilled with this collection and I can’t wait to try it out! You can see more in my Blood Lust First Impression video!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics The Gloss Review – Plus the 5 NEW Blood Lust Shades!

I recently received the Jeffree Star Cosmetics The Gloss in Candy Drip from the Valentine’s Day Deluxe Mystery Box and I could not be happier with this product! I think I’ve found my new signature lip gloss!

Last Summer I had gotten the small Jeffree Star Cosmetics mystery box and wasn’t super thrilled with the Velour Liquid Lipstick mainly because I’m not a fan of any liquid lipstick and I got the shade Restraints which is a cool-toned grey with a metallic finish and a big yuck on me as far as color is concerned!

Luckily I gave Jeffree Star Cosmetics another try because I know from experience that I’m not going to love every product a company makes. So when I got the Valentine’s Day box with The Gloss I was more than happy to give it a try. From the first swipe I was in love.

First up, the packaging is gorgeous! It comes in a tall regal tube that feel heavy and luxurious so an A+ for the container!

The formula itself is perfect — not too thick, not to thin and not sticky or goopy. My Candy Drip shade (tinted pink with pink & blue shift pearls) glided over my 50-year-old lips like a dream and looked amazing on my face. I even had a stranger compliment my shade. I did wear it over my Urban Decay Amulet lipstick because I need a little extra shade, but it also looks amazing alone. My lips literally sparkled as the formula is luminescent! ! As a bonus it smells like light vanilla crème brûlé!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics The Gloss currently comes in 18 shades with a price tag of $18 each. I really want to try the shades Ice Cold: sheer with purple & blue shift pearls and Shockwave: light bronze tint with pink & white pearls next.

On Feb 21st Jeffree Star Cosmetics is also launching the Blood Lust collection with 5 exclusive The Gloss shades in a purple chrome packaging.

The shades include:

Iridescent Throne – Pale icy lavender with blue and purple reflects.

Lord Star – Fuchsia with blue and purple reflects.

Sickening – Periwinkle with gold and pink reflects.

Sorcery – Light peach with pink, purple and blue reflects.

Wizards Glass – Bronze with pink and gold reflects and a minor purple reflect.

Hello Harry Potter inspired! I think I need all 5 of these shades.

This week I picked up the NEW PÜR 4-in-1 Blush Book and I think this is one of the most pigmented blush sets I have ever owned.

What’s to love?

PUR My Little Pony: The Movie Collection Eyeshadow Palette Review

The PUR My Little Pony: The Movie Collection Eyeshadow Palette is a beautiful collection of shades for any age! This pop culture movie inspired palette is so pretty!

 What’s to love?

This color palette has 9 shades that are inspired by the My Little Pony Movie:

  • KINDNESS (yellow with small pearl)
  • FLUTTERSHY (soft pink with shimmer)
  • GENEROSITY (matte mauve)
  • RARITY (matte white)
  • APPLEJACK (orange with shimmer)
  • HONESTY (brown), LAUGHTER (sparkly mauve pink)
  • PINKIE PIE (hot pink matte)
  • TWILIGHT SPARKLE (pinky purple shimmer)
  • MAGIC (bright purple)
  • RAINBOW DASH (royal blue with shimmer)
  • LOYALTY (dark green with shimmer)
  • TEMPEST SHADOW (matte bright red)
  • SONGBIRD SERENADE (dark purple with shimmer)
  • STORM KING (silver with shimmer)
  • PRINCESS SKYSTAR (mint duochrome)

My favorite shades are the pink, gold and blue! They are highly pigmented and do not crease or  flake. I also love the variety of matte and shimmer shade. I’ve been able to blend these colors with very good results.

The dark purple is pretty too but just a bit too dark for my liking (as you all know purple is one of my favorite shade) however if I blend it with a little white it works.

I really LOVE this palette and I got it on sale so it was a great deal too.

New Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel Review

The New Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel not only reminds me of Prince it also smells amazing!

What’s to love?

This purple wonder is so pretty, the color is a deep, deep clear purple and it’s almost too pretty to use. Almost. The smell is pure on plum as it has Umeboshi (Japanese salt plums) and fresh plum juice. It’s also got Petitgrain Oil and  Sicilian Mandarin Oil. It’s not a sweet fruity but smells very earthy and and lush!

The lather is thick on this one and it makes my skin feel amazing. I really love this new shower gel! It’s a nice Fall scent too,

Maybelline Color Tattoo by EyeStudio 24hr Cream Gel Eye Shadow Review

I recently picked up the Maybelline Color Tattoo by EyeStudio 24hr Cream Gel Eye Shadow in Painted Purple because it was on sale and I like to keep these pots in my make-up bag. I love the Inked In Pink shade that I bought last Summer so I thought I’d try the purple shade.

What’s to love?

The Maybelline Color Tattoo is a nice cream eyeshadow that looks really bright in the pot however it is a bit more transparent on my skin but I do really like it. The non-greasy formula is easy to apply on the go and the shade is one of my favorites.

The key to a good application is to sweep your eyelid and then blend out. I like to apply a primer first to get a better application. The color does stay put with no creasing although I have never tried wearing it for 24 hours.

I have also heard that these pots can dry out but the pink one I bought last year is still fine so I’m hoping I have the same luck with the purple shade.

Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette Review

I received the Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette in my March 2017 Glossybox and it’s a great affordable palette with nice shades.

What’s to love?

While this isn’t a high end product it’s a decent palette if you want to create a look based on these rose and purple shades.

c3.jpg

I swatched the shades from left to right…

  • Dark Purple – Shimmer
  • Deep Lilac – Matte
  • Medium Lilac – Shimmer
  • Rose Lilac – Shimmer
  • Rose – Shimmer
  • Light Rose – Matte

These are not the official names of the shades, I just went by the color. The 2 center shades are very similar too.

I do like how the colors blend and I was able to create a nice smoky rose look using this palette. The shades have a light to medium pigmentation and they have decent lasting power.

The plastic case is durable and you get a dual foam/brush applicator.

Overall if you like the colors I think Catrice is a good brand. Catrice was founded Christina Oster-Daum in 2004 in Germany and they are cruelty free. They started selling in the USA in 2014.

Retail Price: $6.99

Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil Review

The Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil comes in 10 shades including Violet Flame which I have. Despite the OK reviews I am actually really loving this pencil.

What’s to love?

I love this pencil as a simple travel eyeshadow. I rarely travel with powder eyeshadow because they can break so I prefer the stick cream eyeshadows when I’m on the road.

I love that this is a thinner pencil and it’s super easy to apply. One swipe and I’m looking good. I have not been able to master the “flamed out” look but I really don’t need that!

c3.jpg

The pigmentation is great and I really like this light violet shade that has a bit of shimmer and sparkle that stays in place. The only bad thing is that you need a sharpener, I much prefer the twist-up sticks.

Price: $6.74
