My Go-To Quarantine Hair Care Products – Bath & Body Works, Lush, Avon, Aveda & More!

Being home I have a ton of time to care for my hair and actually my hair care routine hasn’t changed much since my pre-quarantine days! I never really liked the beauty salon — I’m more of a do-it-yourself girl. My hair is extremely thick and wild which makes it hard to get a good cut so I just do it myself.

Here’s me in the 10th grade and from last year! I had huge hair in the 80’s and it was usually feathered and sprayed. A stiff wind couldn’t blow my style away!

My natural hair color is a dark blonde so I usually lighten it with the L’Oréal Age Perfect by Excellence hair dye in shade 8N Medium Natural Blonde or 9N Light Natural Blonde. It’s a bit darker when I first dye it but lightens over time.

Here my are go-to quarantine hair care products!

From Lush – I have been using the Lush Shampoo Bars now for over 4 years now and I love them! These round disks provide a fragrant natural feeling lather. My favorite shampoo bars are Seanik (sea salt), Montalbano (lemon) and Jumping Juniper (lavender). I created a video review below too!

From Avon – Lately I’ve stopped using my flat-iron and I’m letting my wavy hair grow out. My go-to daily conditioner is now the Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner. This conditioner is amazing and reduces my daily frizz without weighing my hair down. It reminds me more of a cream rinse than a conditioner!

I also use the Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo which has a nice light floral scent and leave me hair super clean and fresh. I use this shampoo about 2-3 times per week.

I’ve also been using the Avon Elastine PropoliThera Repair Conditioner which has been giving my hair an amazing shine! It has honey, royal jelly and propolis. I am loving the octagon pump bottle too!

This Korean Beauty product is super powerful and a little goes a long way. However, it does have an extremely heavy floral scent that’s a bit too strong for me so I usually leave this one on for about 5 minutes rinse then follow up with the Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner to reduce the scent.

From Paul Mitchell – OMG the scent of this the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo is simply amazing and soooooo strong! I leaves my hair squeaky clean but I can’t use it everyday because it’s a bit harsh on colored hair.

From Aveda – I love the Aveda Damage Remedy that came in my FabFitFun Box. I use this treatment on my wet hair and it does a great job with overall hair repair. I also love the natural scent from Aveda products.

From South Mane – I am a huge fan of hair oil treatments and the South Mane Macadamia Oil Treatment is so nice! A tiny bit goes a long way and it leave my hair soft and shiny. It has no scent and includes natural UV protection!

From Bath & BodyWorks – Finally, I rely on Bath & Body Works for hair mists and masks and I am really hoping we get a new line for Summer 2020.

My past favorite hair mists which I still use are the At The Beach Sea Salt Mist and the Protective Hair Perfume with UV Absorbers + Aloe!

I am also a huge fan of the Bath & Body Works Hair Mask collection. I still have the Bamboo Strengthening, Shine Hibiscus and the Avocado Smoothing formulas and they give my hair a beautiful shine!

Below is my Bath & Body Works Hair Mask collection video review!

So as the stay-at-home orders drag on I think I’m going to try to grow out my hair a bit more and I’m also on the look out for new hair products so feel free to leave your favorites below!

How To Support Essential Workers From Home!

Since the stay-at-home orders went into effect I’ve been ordering a lot from Amazon, Target, Sam’s Club and of course AVON and Bath & Body Works so I get daily deliveries.

I wanted to make sure I was supporting essential workers but not leaving the house made it a bit of a challenge. I’m not talented enough to sew masks so I decided to help my deliver drivers.

Every day I set out a box that I created with a sigh that says “Mail & Delivery Drivers Please take what you need!” My box contains Avon Hand Cream and Bath & Body Works PocketBacs. I keep the box stocked everyday and my delivery drivers are very appreciative.

It’s super easy to make your own box and while I know it’s not much I feel like I am making a small contribution in this challenging time.

I’m going to continue buying new products as I can get them.

As an Avon Rep I was able to get the Avon Care Silicone Glove Protective Hand Cream Mini for $1.49 -25% but these are sold out now, I’m glad I got 30! Avon is also coming out with Nitrile Gloves, Cloth Masks and Hand Sanitizer which I’m going to be adding to the box soon! You can also join Avon for free now and get a discount as rep which helps a bit.

The Bath & Body Works PocketBacs are harder to come by. Every time I see them online I order a pack of 5 for $8. Luckily I had a nice stash saved up from vlogging.

Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner Review

Haircare in quarantine is a mixed bag. Wash? Color? Cut? At home techniques run the gamut but oddly my hair is flourishing right now!

I’ve stopped using my flat-iron and I’m letting my wavy hair grow out. My go-to conditioner is now the Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner.

I use the Lush Shampoo Bars (my favorite is Seanik) then I use my Avon conditioner. I love that this conditioner is light but at the same time tames my frizz. If I use a heavy conditioner my hair gets weighed down, using a light conditioner makes it impossible to comb. I’ve found this one to be perfect!

The Avon Advance formula also smells amazing! It’s a light creamy floral that’s not overpowering! It’s got vitamin E and provitamin B5 to condition and I’m super happy with the results! My hair is shiny and manageable!

The Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourish With Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner is on sale right now for $4.89 and you can order right my my Avon page.

Quarantine Life: 12 Things I’ve Learned!

Quarantine Life! Really? Our new norm has taught me a few things and I thought I’d share. Both my husband and I are lucky enough to be able to work at home so we’ve been pretty much homebound for over 30 days now — here’s what I’ve learned.

  1. I can buy glasses online! I got my new prescription for glasses literally days before the stay-at-home order and I really needed new glasses. Much to my delight I was able to purchase a neat pair glasses from Zenni for only $34.95! I really happy with them.

2. I miss Bath & Body Works! As many of you know I’m a vlogger who focuses on Bath & Body Works and while I can order online I miss going into the store – a lot! I love smelling the products, seeing what’s new and chatting my the amazing ladies in my store. I really can’t wait to be able to shop in store again!

3. I hate buying food online! I love the grocery store. Yep, I said it! I hate trying to find my brand of ketchup and peanut butter online, I’d much rather just go to the store. Bring on grocery shopping again!

4. Spotify is my best friend! Music is definitely therapeutic and while my teenage daughter doesn’t always love my selections I’ve been blaring Elton John, Rod Stewart, Meat Loaf, Duran Duran, Queen and random 80’s music since day one.

5. I’m not really bored! At first I thought we’d be really bored being at home but we’ve actually been really busy. My daughter is learning Japanese, my husband restores antique radios and he just bought a 3-D printer on ebay that’s he’s playing around with. My mom is making paper flowers and I bought a greenhouse so that I can grow vegetables.

6. I value toilet paper! I never in a million years thought that I would be getting up at 6am to buy toilet paper online before it sold out. Seriously, this is the craziest part of quarantine life, I appreciate TP more than ever now.

7. Prairie life was hard! I loved Little House on the Prairie in the 70’s and it’s fun to share this with my daughter. It also makes us realize that we’ve got so many comforts in quarantine! If Caroline Ingalls can walk 3 miles to get flour to bake a pie I can certainly be patient waiting for Amazon Pantry to arrive at my doorstep.

8. I love being an online Avon Lady! Back in the 70’s (yes, I’m a nostalgic creature) I loved digging into my moms Avon make-up and products. So I signed up to be an online Avon rep and I have a small team that I lead which gives me a sense of purpose. It’s also fun to see the new products and it keeps me busy too! Here’s my Avon Facebook Page if you want to check out what’s new!

9. I’m OK with not dying my hair (for now). I actually dye my own hair but I’m worried about getting an allergic reaction! LOL I have never had one before but there’s aways a first time so I am forgoing hair dye for now. I may get brave and try highlighting at some point.

10. I’m more social! Wait! What? Yep this self-described introvert started a family Facebook photo sharing group, organized a Zoom reunion (we still need to perfect tech) and I’m calling friends and family more than ever.

11. Having company sucks. While I’m being more social I acknowledge that having company sucks. My Aunt came over to pick up hand sanitizer the other day and it was like a hostage trade! I put the hand sanitizer in a bag on the front walk while she stayed in her car. I then went in the house while she picked up the bag. I waved from behind the glass and she shouted thank you. A totally sucky visit!

12. I’m OK! When all of this first started I went into a full-on panic about everything! School closing, food shortages, getting sick. I worried myself silly for about a week and then I just decided to let it go. I’m still worried about the future but I’m not as paralyzed as I was that first week.

How’s your quarantine going?
