I am a huge fan of the ColourPop Lippies do I decided to bring some back for Throw Back Thursday! Being over 40 it’s sometimes hard to find liquid lipstick that doesn’t make my lips dry and I’ve found that ColourPop really does the trick to make my lip look soft and pump.

ColourPop Ultra Stain Lip in London Fog London Fog is also a a Stain Lip product and the pinky red matte shade is so pretty for Spring.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Airplane ModeThis shade is similar to Strip in that it’s a nude but this one has a bit more pigment and is slightly rosier.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Review

I received a ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lippie in my Summer 2017 Beautycon Box. I got the London Fog shade which is a pinky red!

What’s to love?

I like the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lippie mush better than the Matte version because it gives me a little bit of shine. However this shade is way too red on me but I’d like to try a nude or plum color next.

The formula is nice and not too drying which I like. I didn’t have any bleeding but the color did wear off a bit when I was eating. I feel like this is a really nice lip product for the price too.

Price: $6

trèStiQue Matte Lip Crayon Review

trèStiQue was started in 2015 by Jack and Jenn. They have an amazing line of “stick” products for on the go make-up application. I love that!

I received a trèStiQue Mini-Matte Lip Crayon in my May Ipsy Glam Bag and it’s amazing.

What’s to love?

I got the trèStiQue Matte Lip Crayon in Tuscan Wine and it’s the mini one that just has the Matte Lip Crayon. The shade is amazing and the packaging is so cute (see above). The product is very pigmented and has great lasting power. I’ve been wearing it all day!

However what’s cool is that you can order this product as a 2-in-1 Matte Color & Shiny Balm. The top is the matte shade then you can add shine with the BB Lip balm on the bottom. So cool!

The shades are…

  • Tuscan Wine & Syrah Balm
  • Costa Rica Coral & Bellini Balm
  • Chile Red & Sangiovese Balm
  • Nammos Pink & Pink Champagne Balm
  • Barcelona Bright Berry & Cava Balm
  • Florence Fig & Rose Balm
  • Nantucket Nude & Muscat Blanc Balm
  • Belize Bordeaux & Grenache Balm

Beauty Reviews, Your Best Friend

Your Best Friend deLIPcious 5-Piece Lipstick Collection Review

I received a complimentary (free) deLIPcious 5-Piece Lipstick Collection from Your Best Friend. All opinions are my own.

The 5-Piece collection comes in a beautiful shiny croc-look gift box with a nice magnetic closure, when you open the case the 5 lipstick tubes are encased in a plastic tray.

The shades range from a beautiful nude neutral to a bright fuchsia pink and they taste and smell like vanilla buttercream frosting which is so delicious!

ybf5

Each of the 5 shades has a flowery name and I swatched the shades on my arm. The shades from left to right are…

magnolia-licious (creamy nude)
hydrangea-licious (coral pink)
azalea-licious (fresh fuchsia)
primrosa-licious (natural soft pink)
iris-licious (brilliant burgundy)

The lipstick is very soft and I would call these a cream with a bit of a sheer finish. The pigmentation on all 5 shades is amazing with decent staying power. It did leave a little on my cup but that usually happens with the darker creams. I did not have any bleeding and could wear these shades with or without a liner. My lips did feel very hydrated too.

However my favorite part of these lipsticks is the secret compartment! The end pops off and there’s a delicious gloss in the top that you can apply over the lipstick.

Overall I am impressed with this quintuplet of Springy shades.

Clinique is one of my all-time favorite brands and my Woppin’ Watermelon and Super Strawberry Sticks are part of the Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm line and I love them. These Chubby Sticks provide amazing color, moisture and shine. They are also great for my purse or travel.

I love how creative Clinique got with the Crayola boxes and my biggest challenge is which box to buy!  I’m leaning toward the 4-Pack.

Absolute New York Matte Stick Review

I received a full sized Absolute New York Matte Stick in NAF52 Dark Red in my Ipsy bag and it’s a true matte lipstick.

am

What’s to love?

The Absolute Matte Stick is what I consider to be a true matte lipstick. While it’s creamy it’s also a bit on the dry side. It took a bit of work to apply to my lips and I would recommend using a liner to keep it in place.

I found the color to be a bit too red for my liking but it is pretty and I bet it would look great on someone with a darker complexion. I felt like I looked a bit too goth! The lipstick has no scent and great staying power too. It felt like a good quality lipstick at $4.99 although it is made in PRC which is the People’s Republic of China.

Absolute New York is a new brand for me and their motto is Discover Beauty with an Urban Edge and their new Cotton Candy liners look neat.

Covergirl Outlast All-Day Lip Color Review

I got a full-sized Covergirl Outlast All-Day Lip Color in Ever red-dy Red and boy does this stuff last!

cg

What’s to love?

This product is unique in that you apply the color first using the doe foot and then you let it dry for 60 seconds. Then you apply the clear lip balm for shine and protection. You can use this throughout the day and it holds up to eating and drinking.

The red shade is super dark and has massive staying power. As you can see from the photo below, it was still stained on my arm after I scrubbed it in the shower. So I would definitely call this a lip stain which is good if you want all day color.

I really liked how the clear lip balm felt too. It feels soft, gives a good shine and kept my lips nice and moisturized. I would actually wear this alone. To me it has no scent and the red lipstick has a light sweet scent.

The red shade was too read for me but I’d love to try it in Always Rosy or Cherry Cordial.

Overall I think this is a great product for people who want all-day wear.

Price: $9.24

Beauty Reviews, Urban Decay

The Urban Decay Full Frontal Reloaded Vice Lipstick Set is AMAZING!

I think this is my favorite after holiday find. I got a great deal on the Urban Decay Full Frontal Reloaded Vice Lipstick collectors set. It’s a much smaller version of the Urban Decay limited-edition vaults but it’s just as nice!

v.jpg

What’s to love?

First up the box that the Full Frontal Reloaded Vice Lipsticks come in is so nice. It flips open and has satin straps on the side. I am definitely keeping this box on display!

v2.jpg

Opening the box is also a huge treat too. I mean you get 5 gorgeous gunmetal cases that contain Vice lipstick and a bonus Ultimate Ozone lip primer pencil. I swear I was drooling when I opened the box!

You get 5 amazing shades of Vice Lipstick in this case including:

  • Seismic (Sheer Shimmer) – Purple plum shade.
  • Gash (Cream) – Deep red with a shimmer.
  • Big Bang (Metallized) – Bright Pink sparkle.
  • Snitch (Sheer) – Light coral and pink.
  • 1993 (Comfort Matte) – Medium Brown.

v3

It was really fun trying them all. Seismic and 1993 are my favorites and I gave Gash to my mom. I swatched the shades below.

If you’re new to the Vice line do check out my review on Vice. This lipstick never lets me down (no I’m not try to Rick Roll anyone)! Seriously, I am a huge fan of the pigmentation, coverage, lasting power and consistency of Vice. It’s just a really high quality product.

Holiday 2016 SinfulColors Santa Claws & Sleigh My Name Nail Polish Review

I finally found the new Holiday 2015 Sinful colors that’s I’ve been looking for at Target. I picked up Santa Claws and Sleigh My Name. These colors are both from the new Santa Bae Collection.

sc.jpg

What’s to love?

If you love glitter and shine you’re going to love Santa Claws and Sleigh My Name which are two Limited Edition Glitter colors from Sinful Colors for 2016.

Santa Claws is fine red and sliver glitter. I used 3 coats to get my desired look. This color would also look great on top of white or silver. It’s very Christmasy.

Sleigh My Name is silver with lots of glitter and white stars. I also used 3 coats to get good coverage but I was a bit messy with my application. The glitter kept going on my skin so you might have to do some clean up afterwards.

Both shades are beautiful for all ages. My tween daughter loves the Santa Claws shade and my 73-year-old mom wants to trySleigh My Name for a Christmas party. So it’s a really a fun look for everyone.

One warning. Glitter takes a bit more effort to remove than traditional nail polish!
