Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Cleansing Gel Review

A few weeks ago I tried the Irish Moor Mud Mask and really liked it because it was not harsh and odor free so my 71-year-old mom started using it with great results. She has very delicate skin and is allergic to everything. This is one of the only products that she’s been able to use so I decided to get her the new Purifying Cleansing Gel.

What’s to love?

The Purifying Cleansing Gel is extremely mild on both my mom and I. I actually need a bit more grit on my oily face but she loves this gel because it does not irritate her skin. The formula (like the mud) contains Irish Moor Mud, Hijiki Seaweed and Volcanic Ash.

It is also great for my breaks-out. My chin is a mess this week from hormonal acne and this has been my saving grace. It does contain 0.4% Salicylic Acid so that might be helping me too.

It’s super easy to use the black gel, just add some water and rub on your face. It is low lather though when you apply the gel but gets a bit bubbly when you wash it off. It feels so soft and amazing on my skin. I use a dark wash cloth for both the mud and the cleansing gel because the mud does seem to stain a bit.

The 8.5 oz bottle is huge and you only need a tiny amount so I suspect this will last for a very long time.

Over all I’m very impressed with this product and will be using it to calm my face and help with break-outs. I’m also thrilled that my mom found something that she can use.

I was super happy to read it worked with allergy type skin issues. I have many! 🙂 The natural part sounds intriguing.

Yeah, my mom’s skin gets red with almost everything, so glad this worked for her.

It’s so nice when something works! 🙂 I have the hardest time finding shampoos and conditioners that aren’t petroleum based and are fragrance free. Still on the hunt for those. I’m excited to look into this product though! 🙂

I got a sample size at Sephora before I bought the full size which was nice to try it out. I am in love with the Lush shampoo bars. I was have hair loss due to being on Levaquin and the shampoo bars helped my hair so much.

Really? First, sorry to hear about the Levaquin issue… but, yay for something that helps. I’ve never heard of shampoo bars. I’m going to look into to those. Thank you so much!
