August 2016 Allure Beauty Box Review

*Spoiler Alert! I’m showcasing the August 2106 Allure Beauty Box today.

a

The Allure Beauty box is $15/month but I really feel like it’s worth it. You get a lot of high end products to try out. They also include a full-color booklet each month that describes the products in detail and gives editorial reviews which is nice.

Here’s what I got in the August 2016 Allure Beauty Box!

a1

Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Balancing Moisturizer – This is a balancing moisturizer with White Tea, Vitamin E and French Marine Plants and is smells amazing. Super fresh and floral. I plan on using this when I go to the pool.  It’s Made in the USA. Full-Sized price is $55.00.

a2

We Brush Midi brush – OK who doesn’t need another brush? This one is meant for wet hair and I’m curious to try it out. Price $8.99 (which is more than half the price of the Allure box).

a3

Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 – I have been wanting to try a Supergoop product for some time now and here’s my chance! I seriously need some SPF protection this year and this setting mist has SPF 50. It smell like alcohol then mint which I love. Full-Sized Price – $28.00

a5

Freeze 24-7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum – I rarely buy eye serum because of the price so I get excited about samples. This one has zero scent and is supposed to give you tighter smoother skin. I’ll take that! Full-Sized Price – $115.00

a6

E.L.F. Small Stipple Brush – Well heck, now I know what a Stipple Brush is! You can apply creams and liquids with this guy which is very cool. Price – $3.00

Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencil in Pebble Beach – This Cargo waterproof eye pencil goes on like butter and the color is gorgeous. It feels like a high-end pencil. Only Meh is that it’s Made in China. Full-Sized Price – $18.00

a7.jpg

Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo and Conditioner – I think the Garnier shampoo/conditioner combo was an add-on because it’s not in the book but I’m all about more samples and this product is really nice. It really does smell like honey. My mom loves Garnier so this one is hers!

Bonus!

a8

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee – In a separate package I also got the Bvlgari Eau Parfumee sample set which smells amazing. I will surely use these. The Full-Sized products range from $97- $160.

So how do I feel about my August Allure Box? I have to give it a 10+. I got 7 products this month including several high-end samples that I can’t wait to try AND a free gift.

Have you tried other subscriptions? I’ve never had one, and I’m trying to find the best.

I have! I get Ipsy, Sephora, Birchbox and Target. I’ve got more reviews if you look under beauty boxes in my category list.

Looks like you got some great stuff. I just signed up for Julep, and got 12 bottles of nail polish free! I’ll be doing a review once I get the rest of the order. I’ve had Ipsy for awhile, and am getting tired of it. Which box subscription is your favorite?

That is awesome! I might do Julep next. So far Allure is my favorite.

I’ve been an Allure magazine subscriber since they started. Sounds like an Allure box is calling my name!
