How To Enjoy Lush On A Budget

Lush is a bit on the pricey side and I admit to blowing my beauty budget in one trip but is it really possible to enjoy Lush on a budget? I say it is and here’s how.

Don’t use the whole thing! – I never use an entire Bubble Bar or Bath Bomb in one shot. The bubble bars cut up very easily and I get 7-10 uses out of the large ones like Brightside. I’ve also been known to hack apart a bath bomb. It’s a little more effort to break these up but it can be done. The Bath Bombs are pricey at $6.95 to $12.95 each so getting a few soaks out of one is worth it.

Set a budget before you walk into Lush. – Walking into Lush is an amusement park for your senses and it’s so easy to just haphazardly start throwing things into that cute Lush basket but it can add up fast so keep a metal tally of how much you’re spending and stick to your predetermined number.

Check the expiration date and buy the correct size. –  Lush has a ton of amazing facial cleansers but most of my favorites expire in 3-4 months and you don’t want to end up throwing out excess expired product. For example I buy the 3.5 oz tub of Dark Angels for $14.95 and that lasts me about 3 months because I only use it 1-2 times per week and a little goes a long way. Also keep in mind that the Lush Fresh Masks only last 2 weeks so those are good to share with a friend.

Share with a friend. – Another way to save money is to share with a friend. It’s super easy to chop up the Lush glycerine soap. I cut them up for my guest bath but you could get 4 of your friends together and each buy one bar. Then just quarter the bar and everyone gets to try four different varieties.

Shop the Lush Boxing Day sale. – Every year on December 26th Lush has a 50% off and Buy 1, Get 1 sale on Boxing day for their holiday collection both online and in stores. This is a great time to stock up and save a ton of money. Even the gift boxes are on sale.

Try a shampoo bar. – I get 40 to 50 washes out of a Lush Shampoo Bar. The bars run $9.95 to $12.95 which comes out to about .20 per shampoo which I think is worth it.

Get samples. – When you go to a Lush store not only do you get to try everything you can even take home sample pots. I get 3 to 5 samples every time I go to Lush. I love trying the hair products before I buy. Each pot gives you 3-5 uses.

Turn in your black pots. – This is a great deal. “Bring back 5 empty, clean black LUSH pots to your local shop for recycling and we’ll give you a Fresh Face Mask, FREE!

The bottom line is…don’t be intimidated by what you’ve heard about Lush. While they are known for being pricey on some products you can really get a nice stash for just $25 and don’t forget the samples.

Sample Lush Hauls for under $25

Total: $21.85

Total: $42.40

So go forth and Lush! You can do it on a budget.
