ELF Gotta Glow Lip Tint Lipstick Review

I received an ELF Gotta Glow Lip Tint Lipstick in my April Be You(tiful) Target Beauty Box and it’s amazing!

What’s to love?

First up the packaging is pretty and modern with a silver base and a clear tube.

The ELF Gotta Glow Lip Tint Lipstick comes in 3 shades — Perfect Pink, Perfect Peach and Perfect Berry. I have the Perfect Pink shade.

This innovative lip tint reacts with the chemistry of your lips to deliver a personalized, perfect shade of pink, berry, or peach!

I tried the Perfect Pink shade over my Urban Decay pink matte lipstick and it gave my lips a really nice bright pink shine. I also tried it on my hand and it turned a gorgeous pink shade. I think this is my new favorite lip product for Summer.

I really want the other 2 shades now!

Price: $6

New e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow Review

I a such a sucker for new beauty products…like a bird to a shiny object! So when I saw a rack of new e.l.f. products at Target yesterday I snatched up an e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow.

e

What’s to love?

The new Aqua Beauty liquid eyeshadow formula from e.l.f. “is infused with Purified Water and Vitamin E to help hydrate.” It comes in comes in 6 shades including Cool Steel, Rose Gold, Molten Bronze, Brushed Copper, Liquid Gold and Mocha Metal. I tested out theLiquid Gold.

The packaging is nice with a clear tube and aqua lid. The product comes with a doe foot for application. The color looks beautiful in the tube.

I swatched the Liquid Gold Shade on my arm and the color was pretty brilliant although the product is on the thinner side (probably because of the water infusion). However on my eyelid I got a lighter shade. I had to apply two coats for a darker shade. The color does feel nice on my skin and it’s got a great shimmer to it. I actually think I’d be more likely to use this shade as a lid highlighter than for color. It feels weightless and left no creasing.

It smells a little bit like mascara but nothing too strong and I had zero irritation. It is Made in China.

Overall I liked this new product and would love to try another the purple shade next.

Price: $4

Elf Holiday 2016 Glowing Star Blush and Bronzer Set Review

Target had the Elf Holiday 2016 Glowing Star Blush and Bronzer Set on sale today for $4.50 so I snatched it up and I’m super happy with this purchase.

1.jpg

What’s to love?

I am loving these e.l.f. holiday sets and this blush and bronzer compact is a steal for $4.50. You get a pink and bronze compact and a mini Kabuki brush with this set. I think the brush alone is worth $4.50.

2.jpg

You can use the bronzer for an accent or contour and the pink as blush. The pink side has a slight glitter to it and the bronze has a nice shimmer although both colors have a nice dry look when applied to my skin. It is pretty and light. I’m adding this to my purse make-up bag for touch-ups during the day. You can also swirl both shades for nice coverage and color.

I don’t have a pale pink blush in my collection and this one is just beautiful. You really can’t have too many shade of blush on hand!

I’ve said this before but I really love that e.l.f. has an inexpensive holiday line for stocking stuffers.

Elf Holiday 2016 Flawless Eyeshadow Palette Review

Target and Ulta now have holiday e.l.f. make-up displays with a huge variety of products at amazing prices. I picked up the Flawless Eyeshadow Palette in Matte for Plum for $2. The palette also comes in Golden Goddess, Tantalizing Taupe, Smoky, Happy Hour, Beautiful Browns, Blushing Beauty and Natural Matte.

e.jpg

What’s to love?

Aside from the price which is amazing I’m really pleased with the quality of this palette. It would make a great stocking stuffer and it’s super easy to use which would be great for teens or anyone wanting to experiment with color. It’s even got holiday packaging which is super cute.

The shades in this palette are labeled so it’s goof-proof. You get black for lining, plum for crease, sage for lid and cream for base. The shades swatched pretty well but they are on the harder side. Although you can still blend them pretty easily. The pigmentation was about a 7 out of 10. You also get a dual-sided sponge applicator and a tiny mirror in the set.

Overall I think it’s a great palette if you’re looking to add colors inexpensively or you need some stocking stuffers.

e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Blush in Peach Perfection Review

I just found out that e.l.f. has a super nice cream-to-powder blush called Beautifully Bare Blush and I picked one up in Peach Perfection. This blush comes in one other color called Rose Royalty and at just $4 it’s a steal!

e2.jpg

What’s to love?

First I have to say that I really love the packaging of e.l.f. products. They obviously take some time to design quality cases for their make-up. This blush comes in a nice clear acrylic pot with a gold screw on lid and it looks and feels like a high quality item.

The blush itself is really beautiful. It has zero scent and is super smooth. I applied with a make-up sponge and got very nice bendable coverage. There is a tiny bit of gold shimmer to this peach color and it works as a blush or a highlighter. The color is soft and not greasy at all. I really hate cream blushes that feel oily. This one does feel as light as powder on my face and does not make my skin look crepey.

I just wish it came in more colors! It does say “new” on the packaging so perhaps more colors are in the works! I hope so.

It’s also Cruelty free and vegan.

e.l.f. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in Summer Nights Review

e.l.f. has got a super nice Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick with some serious gold holiday sparkle despite the name…Summer Nights! I think I’m going to rename it Christmas Cheer!

e.jpg

What’s to love?

The e.l.f. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick is a twist-up with a nice firm consistency which is easy to apply and the color “Summer Nights” is so pretty. It’s a peachy bronze with some serious gold shimmer which I think would be great for a casual holiday party. I’d call this stick more of a hybrid of lipstick and lipgloss as it’s got decent pigmentation but it’s not super glossy.

The moisturizing stick is made from Jojoba, Soybean and Vitamin E and it did make my lips feel really soft with almost zero stickyness. Oddly the stick smells a bit like Crayola Crayons  with a hit of mint which I thought was kind of funny. It’s not a bad smell at all.

The stick is Made in China but at $2 each you can stock up on all the colors which also include Pink Umbrellas (light pink) and Movie Star (dark berry).

e.l.f. Blush in Candid Coral Review

Finding a beautiful blush in a compact with a mirror for $3 is A-OK in my book! The  e.l.f. Blush  in Candid Coral gets an A- (more on that below) from me today.

e

What’s to love?

Getting a full-sized blush for $3 is just plain cool and e.l.f. has got a super nice product although it is Made in China (dang I hate that). The powder is fine and smooth and applies evenly however the color I chose (Candid Coral) is almost the same color as my skin so I think it will work as a highlighter or contour. There is a bit of shimmer to this shade which makes it even prettier. It also has a very slight chemical scent to it but nothing offensive, just a regular make-up smell.

I love that you get a mirror but where’s the brush? Even a small brush would have been better than no brush. I hate when you don’t get a brush! OK, rant over, but that’s why I gave this product an A-.

Overall I’m impressed with the quality of e.l.f. blush and would like to try more shades. Berry Merry looks really nice.

e.l.f Lipstick Has A Secret Compartment! Really? Oh yeah.

Ok, this is so cool and feels like a bit of Harry Potter magic. I just found out from my friend that e.l.f. Lipstick has a secret compartment on the bottom of the lipstick tube. How cool is that?

So why did e.l.f create this magic hidden compartment? The answers vary. Cosmo claims it’s a “try before you buy” swatch but I’m going to debunk that one by saying that my lipstick came sealed in cardboard packing so I didn’t have access to the compartment. Also I think that’s a bit gross! I mean I don’t want someone sampling my lipstick on either end!

My theory is that it’s a Balm Chicky Balm Balm style “Friend End”. So say you’re at the movies and your friend is admiring your Pink Minx lipstick, instead of handing them the tube (germs people) you offer them the secret compartment end so they can test it out (with a clean finger of course!)

So there you have it. A little wizardry for your enjoyment. Thanks e.l.f!
