Clinique Crayola Limited Edition 4-Pack Review

The Clinique Crayola Limited Edition 4-Pack has been on my wish list for a few weeks and I finally picked it up on sale at Sephora.

What’s to love?

First up the packaging so so adorable. I’ve been wanting these Clinique Chubby Sticks just because they look like Crayola crayons.

The colors are also very nice too. from left to right I got:

  • Fuzzy Wuzzy (Brown) – Chubby Stick Intense
  • Mauvelous (Raisin) – Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Balm
  • Melon (Light Orange) – Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Balm
  • Brick Red (Dark Red) – Chubby Stick Intense

The Intense sticks have more color and the Moisturizing Lip Balm is more sheer and I love them both! They have great pigmentation and feel amazing on my lips.

They are free of Parabens, fragrance, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DPB (dibutyl phthalate), and camphor.

Also be sure to check out my April Beauty Favorites video which has the Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks.

Your Best Friend Fall in Love Lipstick & Lip Gloss Duo Review

I received a complimentary (free) set of the Your Best Friend Fall in Love Lipstick & LipGloss Duo and it’s simple beautiful. All opinions are my own!

The ybf duos come in four shades: Bloomin’ Berry, Kissable Coral, Passionate Pink and Red. I have the Bloomin’ Berry and my Lip Gloss is Rockin’ Raspberry.

What’s to love?

First up, the packaging so so classy and useful. The lipstick comes in a black tube with a neat trick! When you pull out the lipstick a mirror pops up which I love. It’s so great to have a mirror on the run for applying lipstick. I also like the gem on the case, it’s very unique.

The lipstick itself is a beautiful dark rich berry and one of my favorite shades. It’s a cream and applies very smoothy with great pigmentation and it has a light vanilla scent.

The lip gloss is so pretty too. It’s a raspberry metallic and I applied a bit over my lipstick for a deep glossy look. The gloss can be worn alone too and it has a nice doe foot for easy application. The scent on the gloss is a light berry fruit.

As you can see from the swatches the color of the lipstick is a wonderful dark berry and the gloss is a bright metallic raspberry. I am thrilled with both products as they are very moisturizing and feel amazing on my lips.

Both products are Paraben -free. Your Best Friend products are also infused with Smart Active Immune Complex and enriched with extracts from the earth to make skin look radiant and younger looking.

Retail Price: $22.80

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor Review

I headed out to Target today and picked up the new Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor which is so pretty! The tube is metallic.

What’s to love?

I am super excited about the new Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor. This is one of the most hydrating lipsticks I have used in a while.

Here’s my YouTube review too!

First up, the packaging is gorgeous. It’s a thin sleek tube with a metallic case that’s going to look awesome in my make-up bag. The actual product is oval and really easy to apply.

I got the HD Desert shade which is a light pink. The Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor comes in 15 colors that are all beautiful.

I found this product to be more of a translucent product that a full on opaque color. It’s pigmented but more of a gloss than a creme. I applied one coat and it covered very well and I think my lips look pump and shiny. I want to try a darker shade to see how much pigmentation I get. It is a bit slippery so I think a liner would work well to keep it in place.

The gel contains hyaluronic acid which helps with the hydration. My lips did feel amazing wearing this product although it does have a mango scent. I would prefer vanilla or mint.

Overall I am loving this new lipstick and the price is right at $7.99 (I also got 25% of with Cartwheel).

Beauty Reviews, Buxom

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian Review

I’m on a roll today because I have so many great samples in my stash to share. The Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian came in the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip Set and it’s a beautiful nude pink color.

What’s to love?

First up I like Buxom tube because it’s wide on the bottom and does not fall over when you stand it up, I also like the hard opaque plastic because it looks classy and it’s sturdy.

The Buxom Cream formula is is different from the Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in that there’s no shimmer, glitter or metallic finish. Instead you get a beautiful creamy high shine finish which comes in 12 shades. It’s also got a good tingle (but not too much) and it smells like sugar or cookies. It also has “encapsulated hyaluronic spheres” to plump your lips and I have to agree that my lips looked nice and plumpy! I actually prefer the Cream formula to the Lip Polish.

As you can see from the photo above it really did make my lips look soft, shiny and plump with a hint of pink. I am really digging this formula! It’s not sticky or goopy either, my lips just feel soft and moisturized. I really love this product!

Just a fun fact too. Buxom is owned by Bare Escentuals which is BareMinerals.

The Buxom Full on Lip Cream is on sale for $10 on March 22nd, 2017 as part of the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty!

Bath & Body Works, Beauty Reviews

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Liplicious Lipgloss Review

It’s cold and snowy here in Ohio and I’m breaking out the lip protecters! A few weeks ago I picked up the Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel Liplicious Lipgloss.

What’s to love?

This creamy lipgloss smells just like the Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel line and it tastes like a minty vanilla sugar. It does have saccharine as an ingredient which I’m not thrilled about but I’d found that most lip glosses use it. I wish they’d just use real sugar.

The formula itself is nice. It’s a clear white with silver sparkles that gave my lips a great shine and shimmer. I use this one pretty sparingly though as it gets sticky if you use too much. I apply a little then blend and blot for the perfect application.

Overall I like the look and taste of this lip gloss but I think I prefer the minty ones. The  C.O. Bigelow – Spearmint Supreme 2X Lip Shine – No. 5 that’s sold at Bath & Body Works is really nice too.

Beauty Reviews, Urban Decay

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss Review

I got a nice sample of the Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss in Savage (pink) with my Naked Smoky palette and it’s a neat product.

And yes that’s snow on my tree that I use as a backdrop! Winter is here in Ohio.

What’s to love?

The Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss comes in 14 colors and the first thing I love about this product is the packaging. The textured tube and gunmetal cap look amazing.

The product itself has the Urban Decay Pigment Infusion System which is supposed to give the lipgloss “super creamy texture, insane pigmentation and superior color dispersion“. I have to agree that it is creamy however I was expecting this pink to be the same color that’s in the tube. I’m actually glad it more muted because I thought it was a little too hot pink for me.

It’s also infused with Hilurlip which according to Urban Decay “which defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller.” I do feel like my lips look fuller and I loved that this gloss wasn’t super sticky. My lips also felt super moisturized after using it.

One note…when I pulled the doe foot out of the tube it was a bit stringy but that didn’t affect the quality of the product.

Overall I’m really impressed with this lipgloss and would purchase the full-sized tube. I like the Bittersweet and Vice shades too.

Price: $22

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss Review

The bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss is soft, creamy and so pretty and it smells like vanilla! It’s perfect for the holiday season and cold weather.

What’s to love?

I got this bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss over the Summer at Ulta and it’s the Forbidden Nude shade which is not available anymore and the other 3 shades are Out of Stock so I did a little research and I’m wondering if bareMinerals replaced the Marvelous Moxie Buttercream with the GEN NUDE Buttercream Lipgloss which I’ve heard is equally nice.

If you can get your hands on the Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss you’re in for a treat. First, the doe foot applicator is very luxurious and makes application a breeze. The formula itself is super creamy without being slick or sticky. There’s also no tingle for those of you who don’t like that effect. I also love the tint, it’s a beautiful light pink that looks great alone or over lipstick.

It’s also got naturally derived shea, avocado, and murumuru butters for moisturizing and I have to say that it works. My lips feel amazing in this gloss.

e.l.f. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in Summer Nights Review

e.l.f. has got a super nice Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick with some serious gold holiday sparkle despite the name…Summer Nights! I think I’m going to rename it Christmas Cheer!

What’s to love?

The e.l.f. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick is a twist-up with a nice firm consistency which is easy to apply and the color “Summer Nights” is so pretty. It’s a peachy bronze with some serious gold shimmer which I think would be great for a casual holiday party. I’d call this stick more of a hybrid of lipstick and lipgloss as it’s got decent pigmentation but it’s not super glossy.

The moisturizing stick is made from Jojoba, Soybean and Vitamin E and it did make my lips feel really soft with almost zero stickyness. Oddly the stick smells a bit like Crayola Crayons  with a hit of mint which I thought was kind of funny. It’s not a bad smell at all.

The stick is Made in China but at $2 each you can stock up on all the colors which also include Pink Umbrellas (light pink) and Movie Star (dark berry).

Beauty Reviews, Soap & Glory

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss Review

This is a week of firsts for me! I have never tried Soap & Glory before today. I have seen their products at Ulta and Walgreens and I love the packaging but the price always seemed a bit too high for me to test anything out. Today I got the Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss in Pinkwell as part of a gift set from Ulta so I thought I’d review it.

What’s to love?

If you’re someone who likes tingling lip gloss you’ll probably like this formula as it is super tingly and it smells like chocolate. My lips looked like glass after I applied it and the sticky factor was about on par with any other lip gloss I’ve used.

The idea behind the tingle is that it plumps your lips up which I think it did on mine a little. The light peachy/pink color is very pretty and it’s a nice smooth lip gloss. The package says “Lip Plumping Gloss features Lipswell Natural Flower Oil Infusion and glassy-shine technology“.

My one issue is that the full-sized price is $14 which I did find to be a bit on the high side for a drug store brand lip gloss. It is Made in the U.K.

I actually prefer the minty menthol taste and feel of the C.O. Bigelow lip gloss better.

Beauty Reviews, Estee Lauder

Estée Lauder Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss Review

The Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss is quite possibly the oddest and most beautiful product I have ever tested. I got this sample in my October Sephora Play box.

October 2016 Sephora Play Box Review

What’s to love?

First, I have to say that I really like Estée Lauder products, they were a staple for me in the 80’s. I loved their lipstick which was highly pigmented for the time.

However when I plucked the Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss out of my Sephora box I was totally flummoxed as to what to do with this product! Was it a tooth whitener or a lip gloss? I also kept thinking that the box was Dr. Who Tardis blue…really? Maybe I just need more sleep.

Anyway it turns out that it’s “A high-tech, high-shine gloss with cool blue micro-pearls to help bring out the white in your smile.” Well ok! There’s also a blue Flash Photo sheer powder product that’s supposed to brighten your skin.

The color of this product really is a beautiful translucent white/blue pearlized shade that’s just mesmerizing. It’s supposed to smell of vanilla but mine was a bit weak on scent. Upon application it felt a bit sticky and looked like a glass-finish gloss. Not bad at all, just a clear gloss. I tried taking a selfie which looked bad in the bathroom light and I didn’t notice a huge improvement in my appearance but it may work better in natural light but it’s raining cats and dogs here today so natural light is not to be.

Overall I’m wondering if this is a passing fad or pure genius. Anyone else try these “blue” photo products. Do tell!
