Kind of sounds like a kids book but instead it was a day that I’d rather do over (or not).
The day started on a low note when we had to put our 15-year-old Maine Coon cat to sleep. Pokemon was an awesome kitty. Friendly, cuddly, you could dress him up too. His only downfall was that he wouldn’t use a litter box. Instead he preferred puppy pads which made clean up interesting to say the least.
In the past few years he slowed down but he was still a great pet. So RIP Mr. P…we hope you’re playing with your tinkle ball in a better place.
After we left the vet we stopped at Target to buy a new HEPA vacuum to clean up the left over cat hair. Big mistake. In a weird turn of events my 69-year-old mother ended up tripping and took a hard fall on the floor. An ambulance ride, 5 hours in the ER and some bumps and bruises we’re back home but what a day.
On a good note the people at Target were extremely nice. An off duty nurse helped with my mom until the Target supervisor arrived and despite the craziness everything went pretty smoothly. I’d like to think the universe was topsy-turvy today for the good of mankind. Like maybe the nurse who stopped to help was spared her own accident because she got delayed helping us. Who knows why the universe unfolds the way it does.
Anyway the house it’s a bit too quite without Poke but at least my mom seems to be doing better.
What a day.
