Ipsy July 2016 Glam Bag Review

*Spoiler Alert! I’m showcasing the July 2106 Ipsy Glam Bag today.

First up I’m new to glam bags and beauty boxes but am so excited to get a monthly stash for $10. I am a mystery box addict so this is right up my alley.

Today I got my Ipsy Glam Bag. I saw the mail lady approaching with the hot pink shiny mailer and I almost jumped for joy but in an effort to act my age I refrained.

Chad Smith drum roll please…Here’s what I got.

The theme is…Hot Summer Nights

The Ipsy July 2016 Bag – It’s super cute and shimmery silver with little umbrellas all over it. My daughter snatched it up right away.

Too Faced Hangover Primer – This was one of the most exciting things in the bag for me. The Too Faced coconut scented primer cream is super light and airy and feels great on the dry areas of my face. I’m excited to keep using it.

Nunzio Saviano Anti-Frizz Sheets – You get 4 towelettes of these sheets. I wanted to like this product but they are just not for me. They small amazing (like coconut) but I didn’t feel like they de-frizzed my hair very well. Also didn’t like that they were Made in China.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony eye shadow in Matt Kumar shade – I had never hear of The Balm before and I am intrigued! Their products have talc-free shadows & blushes are paraben-free and cruelty-free.

The sample is a shade from the Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette. This super matte maroon shade is nice and smooth and looks great on my eyes.  It is Made in the USA.

Skyn Iceland The Antidote Cooling Daily Lotion –  I love the mint scent of this lotion! It also has a cooling minty sensation and feels so nice on my skin. I’m excited to use this product for a week to see if it soothes my problem areas. So far I love it.

So how do I feel about my first Ipsy bag? I give it a 9.5 Whoo! Hoo! can’t wait for August.

Update – Apparently I was also supposed to get an eye brush. I’ll contact Ipsy about this. Still like the bag though.

Update #2 – The Ipsy Customer Service team contacted me very quickly to resolve the missing brush.

  1. Isn’t it fun getting that pink package in the mail? I’ve had my Ipsy subscription since they started. I got my July bag yesterday as well. I’ll be doing a review soon.

  2. Lise says:

I always thought ipsy had more than four items, at least you got good ones!

  3. The bag seems really good this month compared to other months!

  4. Catherine says:

Nice review. I’m glad that you mention where products are made as well. I’m going to live vicariously through your mystery boxes because I’m not adventurous enough to do so myself!

  5. aprilmd says:

My first bag I almost left a brush in the pink envelope. It didn’t fit in the zip up bag and I almost missed it. If you still have the pink envelope look inside. It could be hiding in there.😀

  6. The makeup bag they sent is adorable! The TF primer is my Holy-Grail primer for the winter – it creates such a great base for my foundation. Can’t live without it!
