e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Pink Minx Review

This is actually my first e.l.f. review and I had no idea what to except and I just learned that e.l.f. stands for eye, face, lips! You learn something new every day!. Our local K-Mart is going out of business and I picked up the e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Pink Minx for $2 and it’s very nice.

I have always been a fan of both high-end and drug store brand cosmetics and I love trying all brands. I also found out that one of the founders Scott Vincent Borba was a beauty industry vet which is very cool.

“He cites his move to Los Angeles as a major career stepping-stone – there he achieved beauty-industry success in both the prestige and mass-market sectors in product development, branding and marketing hybrid capacities for companies such as Hard Candy, Neutrogena, P&G/Wella/Sebastian, Shiseido/Joico and Murad, before setting out on his own as Founder of BORBA and Co-Founder of e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) Cosmetics.”

What’s to love?

I found the e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick to be very buttery and creamy and it smells wonderful, like vanilla candy and it tastes that way too.

The formula was smoother than I expected it to be and applied super easily with a nice moisturizing feel to it. The pigmentation is good although I felt that they staying power was weak. It didn’t last through dinner which is not a huge surprise with a cream.

The color is a beautiful soft pink that looks great with my skin tone.

Overall I think it’s a really nice lipstick and at $3 (not on sale) you can build a great color collection. While my all time favorite lipstick is Urban Decay’s Vice it’s much pricier and I’m glad that we have quality options with drug store brands these days.
