L’ORÉAL Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm for Face/Neck/Chest

I got the L’ORÉAL Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Golden Balm for Face/Neck/Chest for free because I used my $11.99 credit from my Amazon Beauty Box which was really cool.

First Impression!

I wanted to try this face cream on my dry spots and my first impression is that it’s a nice product. The golden colored cream is very rich and thick (it really is more of a butter than a cream) with a light musky/floral scent that smells a bit old-fashioned to me. I do however like that it comes in a glass jar.

My biggest concern is that it might be too rich for my skin. I’m OK with wearing it at night but as a day cream I thought it looked a bit greasy although it is a non-greasy formula. However I’m fine with it just being a night cream.

It did hydrate my skin very well and it did absorb quickly for me. Overall I interested in seeing if this does anything to my dry areas long term.

L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK Purify & Mattify Mask Review

Last week I reviewed the red L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK Exfoliate & Refining Treatment Mask and the black L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK Detox & Brighten Charcoal Clay Mask. The red clay mask didn’t work for me but the black charcoal mask was amazing. So today I tired the green L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK Purify & Mattify Pure-Clay.

What’s to love?

The third mask in the L’Oreal Pure Clay mask line is the green Purify & Mattify Mask. It’s got Eucalyptus to purify and mattify your skin.

The scent of this one is nice too. It’s strong and you can definitely smell the Eucalyptus but I liked it. Upon application this mask did burn my skin a bit, again I think it’s from the Eucalyptus but the burning subsided quickly for me. I could feel this mask tightening my skin which was nice too.

After 10 minutes I washed it off with warm water and while my skin was a bit red it looked clean and tight. The redness went away after a few minutes and my face looked great.

So in order of favorites I like the black charcoal mask best, then the green Eucalyptus mask second and the red algae mask third. I would absolutely buy the black and green masks again.

L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK Exfoliate & Refining Treatment Mask Review

I’ve been seeing the L’Oreal PURE-CLAY MASK’s everywhere and I’ve been wanting to test them out. Luckily I got 3 sample sized masks in my Target beauty box and the first one I tested out was the Exfoliate & Refining Treatment Mask with mixed results.

I really wanted to love this mask because I’ve heard such good things about it. The red clay formula (it has Rich Red Algae) is a medium consistency with a fine grit to it for exfoliation. I was easily able to apply a thin coat with my fingers as it’s super smooth and creamy.

However I just didn’t like the scent. It’s a definite floral aroma that just didn’t float my boat. I like the smell of the Borghese Fango Active Mud much better as it’s more earthy.

This mask didn’t burn or irritate my skin and it dried smooth. I actually like when a clay mask dries hard and cracks a little. I washed it off with a warm wash rag and it came off clean and easy. I did feel like my face was smoother after using this mask and I do believe it does a good job with exfoliation however I was just not blown away with the results as I could not get past the scent.

L’Oreal Infallible Paint Eye Shadow Review

The new L’Oreal Infallible Paint Eye Shadow is a really interesting product with a lot of potential and uses.

li.jpg

What’s to love?

This new two sided liquid eyeshadow from L’Oreal is a true paint and I have to agree that it is Infallible. It comes in 12 color combinations including: Mistress Noir (black), Shady Violet (purple), Navy Yard (navy/pink), BRB Blue (blue/grey), Aqua Aura (aqua/sand), Mint Detox (green), Army Camo (olive), Jet Set Blonde (yellow/white), Sunset Fire (red), Cool Ivory (white), Nude Fishnet (beige), Brown Sugar (brown).

I chose the Aqua Aura shade. I love that this product comes in big bold colors. These would be great for holiday or costume make-up too as the color does not budge!

Each side is a liquid eyeshadow that you apply with a doe foot. The aqua side is more of a sheen while the sand side is a shimmer. The product has no scent and applies like a cream.

You have a good deal of choices with application too. You can go dark by just applying and letting it dry and it’s buildable. Or you can blend it which is what I did. I used an eye shadow primer which makes the product even more blendable. Once it’s dry however you really can’t blend much. It does dry like paint but with no cracking.

I don’t usually wear blue eye shadow but I wanted to be a little different and I think it looks nice.

If you’re young I think the possibilities are endless with this product. Green would make a great St. Patrick’s Day look or you could do a cool Pokemon inspired style with yellow, white and red.

L’Oreal Voluminous Feline Noir Mascara Review

I got this full-sized L’Oreal Voluminous Feline Noir Mascara in my Winter Beautycon Box and it’s a really, really nice product! Ooo la la! OK, I really don’t know French, but I do know Feline Noir means black cat!

lm1.jpg

What’s to love?

The color of this mascara is Ferocious Black (hence the black cat title) and the tube has a leopard print design which I think is so unique! It reminds me a bit of the 80’s (maybe the Duran Duran Hungry Like The Wolf video?) Anyway I love how it looks in my make-up case.

The product itself is nice too. It feels more like a high end mascara than a drug store brand. The wand is simple and functional. Sometimes I hate when mascaras go overboard with a crazy wand shape when all I really want is a basis wand!

I was easily able to apply the Voluminous Feline Noir and I didn’t get any clumping. It also added volume and length to my lashes. I do recommend only using one coat though, two coats looked too thick on me.

I also found the staying power to be great! Overall I am super impressed with this formula.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer Review

I love the idea of priming my lashes and I think I hit the jackpot with the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer that I got in my November Target Beauty BoxNovember Target Beauty Box.

lm

What’s to love?

The L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer is meant to thicken lashes, amplify mascara and condition lashes over time. I think it did all three for me!

The white formula comes with a very user-friendly wand that I love. I hate when mascaras go overboard with a fancy wand that doesn’t work. This one is perfect.

The actual product is of average consistency and applies easily. L’Oreal recommends applying mascara before the primer dries and that worked well for me. I like that this product has a pleasant smell too. It almost smells like a lotion to me and I’m glad it’s not floral.

I noticed a definite lengthening of my lashes and I think you can really see this in the photo on my lower lashes. I’m wearing Urban Decay Perversion Mascara on top of the primer. I have had no irritation from this product either.

Overall I am thrilled with this primer, it has excellent quality for the price too.

L’Oreal Nail Color In Pop The Bubbles Review

Tomorrow I’m sitting at the kids table for Thanksgiving dinner so I thought it would be fun to wear some sparkly nail polish so I chose L’Oreal Nail Color In Pop The Bubbles.

What’s to love?

This is the first time I have tried L’Oreal nail polish and I have to say it’s really nice. One coat gave me amazingly good coverage and two coats looks like liquid blue glitter in glass. It’s so pretty and shimmery under the light I love it!

I also liked that this L’Oreal nail polish seems to have a lower odor for me and I it applies like a high-end polish like O.P.I. or Essie and at $6.99 is a really good deal.

The color is also amazing. Like a snowy blue. This would be a great color for New Year Eve too.

I really want to try some more L’Oreal nail polish colors soon.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipcolour Review

Last week I picked up 2 L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipcolours from Amazon for an amazing price so that I could try them out. I got  #880 Fairest Nude and #839 Cinnamon Toast.

What I loved!

This lipstick gets an A+ for color. The Colour Riche line is exactly that, rich in color. Both shades were are very true to shade and completely cover your lips in one layer. Oddly the nude shade covered a bit better than the toast. I felt like I needed a lip liner to contain the darker color, you can see that it bled a bit on my lips.

The texture is super creamy and adheres well to your lips making them feel super smooth and moisturized. It also has great coverage and is long lasting which is awesome.

I also like the packaging. The gold case is durable and the top snaps securely in place.

What’s not so hot for me.

I have problems with scented lipstick and although this one has a pleasant scent (it’s a combination of vanilla and fruit) it just doesn’t work for me. Oddly I like scented lip gloss, just not lipstick. My daughter however loved the scent so it’s definitely a personal choice.

Overall I would recommend Colour Riche because you can get a huge variety of shades for a great price at $8 per tube.
