Urban Decay Elements Palette is WOW!

I think one of my favorite eyeshadow palette purchases of 2018 was Urban Decay Elements Palette that’s now $26 but currently out of stock : ( — but Urban Decay been known to restock sale items online.

Elements is like Star Trek, meets Boy George — err, ok that’s a little weird. However, these shades have an 80’s Culture Club feel to me.

My favorite is the shifty Fortune Teller shade (to the right of the bright blue one) that looks grey but is actually “metallic pink-red with green 3-D sparkle and shift” YES!

I also the brown Moon Rock shade which is “metallic copper with iridescent sparkle”. The greens have a Slytherin quality, unfortunately I’m not much of a green eyeshadow girl but they are pretty!

The case is gorgeous too with a sparkly rainbow cover and huge mirror. I love a good mirror!

What’s to love?

My favorite shade is the White Lie. You can apply these over Vice Lipstick shade to rev them up a bit and give them a special effect. They are the consistency of lipgloss and it’s like adding a shine or glitter to your lips which is pretty cool. You can add a thick or thin coat for different effects.

According to Urban Decay they come in shimmer, glitter and metallic finishes and they are a gel-cream which makes sense. It was not sticky for me and I had good lasting power (4-6 hours).

This is the White Lies shade alone.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick Review

I love the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick. I just received the Sheer Liar Shade which is a gorgeous glossy muted pinky-brown shade and it’s on sale now for $10 which make it even better.

IMG_2675.jpg

What’s to love?

The Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick  has a high-shine finish with a creamy texture. I can wear it for abut 3-5 hours between applications and it looks amazing all day. I also like wearing this sheer finish over other Vice shades for a high-gloss finish.

It also has “Maxi-Lip™ (which defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller)” and I have to say my lips do look amazingly full with this product.

This formula gets great reviews and I hope they are not discontinuing it. The sale shades include:

  • Sheer F-Bomb (red)
  • Sheer Ladyflower (rose-pink)
  • Sheer Liar (pinky-brown nude)
  • Sheer Shame (berry)
  • Sheer Slowburn (orange-red)
  • Sheer Streak (coral-pink)

They also have their Revolution Lipstick and Matte Revolution on sale now for $10!

Urban Decay Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette Review

I went a little Urban Decay crazy over the holidays and ended up with some amazing deals. The Urban Decay Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette is one of mu favorites.

ud.jpg

What’s to love?

The Urban Decay Vice lipstick line is an all time favorite of mine so when I saw this palette on sale it was a “must have”.

It’s a neat palette because it has “metallized shades up top, with coordinating matte shades underneath” and my favorite Amulet shade.

You also get a neat brush so that you can layer on the go. I really love the variety of this palette and of course the quality is excellent.

The top also flips over with side hinges so that your lipsticks are protected. How cool is that? And yes — Lipstick is my Vice!

Urban Decay Afterdark Eyeshadow Palette Review

The Urban Decay Afterdark Eyeshadow Palette is currently on sale for $39 and I actually got my for an additional 30% off which was nice.

af

Afterdark is a 10 color set of  jewel-toned eye shadows. Seven of the shades are new and three are cult favorites. They are shade-shifting duotones and metallized shimmers which I love.

What’s to love?

The iridescent metallic purple case is really nice but does leave finger prints. The mirror is high quality and the case is easy to open.

Inside you get:

  • Alter – yellow
  • Scene – orange
  • Supersonic – rust
  • Sinful – bronze with a hint of gold
  • Off Duty – brown

ad2

  • Druggie – purple
  • Backfire – purple/mauve
  • Lounge – greenish teal
  • Fringe – teal
  • Paralyzed – blue

The shades are very pigmented and almost feel like cremes. They are very velvety powders. Alter is the lightest of the bunch and not as pigmented but the rest are nice and dark.

I’m 47 years old and a huge fan of the metallic shades. I find that they actually make my eyes look younger than the matte shades. My favorite colors in this palette are Sinful, Off Duty, Druggie and Backfire. I do have a hard time wearing blue shades with my green eyes but I use them as eyeliners and accents.

I did get all-day wear from the Druggie shade and it looked great after a day of work.

In comparing this the Heavy Metals Palette I find these shades to be more of the shade-shifting duotones and I love both palettes.

Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette Review

I just got the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette and I am over the top thrilled with it.

First up the case is amazing. Tt’s a nice heavy purple metal and the palette slides out sideways. I find that it’s super easy to use and it does not stick or slide out on its own.

IMG_2582.jpg

As for the palette you get 20 shades with a mirror in the center including:

GROUND (metallic black w/iridescent shimmer)
SPANDEX (metallic deep blue w/purple shift and blue micro-sparkle)
METALHEAD (metallic deep purple)
MULLET (metallic deep green)
TWISTED (metallic gold)

ALUMINUM (metallic warm gray-taupe w/iridescent micro-sparkle)
DIVE (metallic medium blue)
PUNK ROCK (metallic fuchsia)
AMP (metallic bright teal)
GLAMROCK (metallic silver)

BASS (metallic bronze)
DEMO (metallic bronze-rose)
AFTERPARTY (metallic red)
ROADIE (metallic burgundy)
SCREAM (metallic mauve)

GLORY (metallic golden bronze)
STARFIRE (metallic bright copper)
ANGELFIRE (metallic pale pink)
MAIDEN (metallic beige)
ACOUSTIC (metallic nude)

I am so in love with the metallic shades. I find them to be very pigmented and they look amazing on my over 40 eyes with no creasing or caking. I think this one just moved into my Top 5 palettes of all time!

As of today 12/15 the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette is on sale for $39.

Urban Decay Nagel Vice Lipstick Palettes

My 14-year-old self is so over the top crazy about the new Urban Decay Nagel Vice Lipstick Palettes. As many of you know Patrick Nagel designed the Duran Duran album cover for Rio with this famous shot and it’s so 80’s.

So being a huge Duran Duran fan and a huge Urban Decay fan this 5 lipstick palette is now on my Christmas list.

There are 3 palettes: Rio (see below), Sunglasses and one called Untitled and they each come with 5 shades of Vice Lipstick. So bring on the big hair, neon clothes and some “Hungry Like The Wolf” on the turntable. They 80’s are back!

Urban Decay Trouble Maker Mascara

The new Urban Decay Trouble Maker Mascara looks amazing! I am a bit of a mascara junkie and this one really interests me because it “contains two different types of black pigments, giving it an intensity that’s blacker”. I love really black, black mascara!

It also has a really neat brush that doesn’t look like a caterpillar! I am finding that smaller brushes work better for me.

Has anyone tried this formula yet? I am hoping a sample size shows up in one of my beauty boxes this Fall.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Backdoor Review

I absolutely love the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick and Amulet is one of my all time favorites but it’s getting low. However instead of replacing it I decided to try another Metallized shade for Fall. The shade I chose is called Backdoor and it’s a really nice bronzy shade.

Below is Backdoor on the left and Amulet on the right. Backdoor is a bit more bronzy than Amulet and both have a Metallized finish.

What’s to love?

The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick feels so luxurious to me. It goes on smooth and has amazing lasting power. The pigmentation is also amazing and people always ask me what brand I’m wearing when I go out in it.

I love this shade for Fall, it goes with everything and looks so pretty.
