The Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip Set Is Perfect For Valentine’s Day!

Being a beauty addict I try to look for deals so that I can get the most beauty products for my money and I’ve found Value Sets to be one of the best ways to do this. I love shopping Sephora online and I did enroll in Sephora Flash to get free 2-day shipping for a year with no minimum purchase. I also get 3 free samples with every order.

Last week I ordered the new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip. You get 5 lipsticks and a lip liner with this set in a cute pink lip shaped box with black confetti.

The box contained…

Here are the swatches from top to bottom.

Urban Decay, Too Faced, Buxom, Bite, Marc Jacobs, Estee Lauder.

I really feel like this set was a deal at $28 ($88.00 value). The Urban Decay Lipstick is a full-sized product and the other 4 lipsticks are nice large sized samples that gave me a chance to try brands that I had never used before like Marc Jacobs.

I also can’t wait to try the Estée Edit The Barest Contour lip Liner, it looks like a very creamy and soft liner which I love.

This set would also make a really nice Valentine’s Day gift, I may pick up another one for my mom!

Estée Lauder Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss Review

The Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss is quite possibly the oddest and most beautiful product I have ever tested. I got this sample in my October Sephora Play box.

October 2016 Sephora Play Box Review

What’s to love?

First, I have to say that I really like Estée Lauder products, they were a staple for me in the 80’s. I loved their lipstick which was highly pigmented for the time.

However when I plucked the Estée Edit Flash Photo Gloss out of my Sephora box I was totally flummoxed as to what to do with this product! Was it a tooth whitener or a lip gloss? I also kept thinking that the box was Dr. Who Tardis blue…really? Maybe I just need more sleep.

Anyway it turns out that it’s “A high-tech, high-shine gloss with cool blue micro-pearls to help bring out the white in your smile.” Well ok! There’s also a blue Flash Photo sheer powder product that’s supposed to brighten your skin.

The color of this product really is a beautiful translucent white/blue pearlized shade that’s just mesmerizing. It’s supposed to smell of vanilla but mine was a bit weak on scent. Upon application it felt a bit sticky and looked like a glass-finish gloss. Not bad at all, just a clear gloss. I tried taking a selfie which looked bad in the bathroom light and I didn’t notice a huge improvement in my appearance but it may work better in natural light but it’s raining cats and dogs here today so natural light is not to be.

Overall I’m wondering if this is a passing fad or pure genius. Anyone else try these “blue” photo products. Do tell!

July 2016 Allure Beauty Box Review

*Spoiler Alert! I’m showcasing the July 2106 Allure Beauty Box today.

allure

Today was like Christmas at my house as I got the Allure Beauty Box and Birchbox! I’ll get to reviewing the Birchbox next but the Allure one really got me excited so it goes first.

Here’s what I got in the July 2016 Allure Beauty Box!

The cost of the Allure Box is $15 per month. You also get a really nice full-color booklet describing each product in detail.

GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment – I was super excited to get a GlamGlow product. I’ve been wanting to get some but it’s a bit pricey at $69 for 1.2 oz. The mask is black and contains Eucalyptus but to me it smells like licorice in the bottle.

You get about 2 application in the sample. When you spread it on your face it’s pretty thin and burns a bit (but to me that means it’s working). It dries into a clay and when I washed it off my pores were noticeably smaller. I LOVE this mask!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair – I haven’t used a night repair serum in ages and I’m excited to try this one out. It’s another pricey sample that costs $62 for 1 oz. You get .24 oz in the sample which would cost $15.50, that’s more than the entire cost of the box.

It’s supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles so I’m all in for that!

Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry – A few weeks ago I reviewed the Chubby Stick Baby Tints and was wishing they were a bit darker. I got my wish! This Chubby Stick is definitely darker and provides max mango and shea butter moisturizing. It’s a twist up too!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – Here’s another high-end product. This Smashbox primer is oil-free and it’s supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines for a flawless finish. Can’t wait to try it.

La Mer ‘The Moisturizing Soft Cream’ – The final item in the box I had never heard of! This super high-end cream is sold at Nordstrom and sells for $85 for a .5 oz. WHAT! This sample is .11 oz. so you get a nice amount to try out.

The cream has an amazing earthy/floral scent and my 71-year-old mom gave it two thumbs up. Instantly made her skin feel softer.

So how do I feel about my first Allure Box? I give it a 10. I really felt like this was well worth the $15.
