Over the past 6 months I’ve tested a lot of liquid lipstick and I wanted to showcase 7 pink shades that I’ve tried out. I’m still on the fence about liquid lipstick. While I love the shades, pigmentation and staying power I still prefer my over 40 lips to have a little moisture and shine.
The first thing I wanted to do was show the doe foot on each product and the scent. In the photo below from right to left I have:
- NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in San Paulo (strong cookie/sugar scent)
- OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mocha (strong cookie/sugar scent)
- Ciate London Liquid Velvet in Pin Up (no scent)
- Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B (very light cookie/sugar scent)
- Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat (no scent)
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina (strong cookie/sugar scent)
- Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit (light mint scent)
Next up I swatched each shade in the same order.
My favorite shade is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina, it’s the second from the left and such a pretty mauve/pink.
My favorite cream is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream which I didn’t find to be that drying.
My favorite scent is the Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit because it smells like mint which I love.
My overall favorite product of these 7 is the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick. It had great staying power, was not too dry and I really liked how it felt on my lips.

Do you prefer liquid lipstick to the “old school tubed” lipstick?
I actually prefer the old school lipstick because to me it’s more moisturizing.

I like the pigmentation of the liquids but the moisture goes to the tubes!

I think my favorite is The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Hughes. They’re the least drying feeling to me. And they smell like Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.

I’ve tried Ciate liquid lipstick and really liked it too! My favourite formula that I have found so far is the BH Cosmetics liquid lipsticks – so affordable and they are the most comfortable for me (I’m not a fan of that dry, cracked feel either) xx

These are gorgeous. I love my tarte matte lip paint, but do you find that it kind of flakes off after awhile? I hate seeing the little flakes on my lips..

I find that all the mattes flake a little. I hate that.
NYX SMLCs are my favorite thus far. I would love to try more but a lot are expensive.
I have tried the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in Pin Up. And even though it was beautiful and I loved that it didn’t dry out my lips. But it didn’t stay on at all. It would eventually just fade off. What are you doing to make yours stay!? Tell me your secret! 🙂
LOL…I’m not sure! I wore mine all day (about 7 hours) without a problem. That’s about as long as any lipstick lasts on me. It did fade a little by then end of the day.
Yeah I wore mine for the same amount of time but it faded after hour one.
I got a defected one! Lol.
